My husband Mark, our dog Lily and I are going to be traveling the US and Canada for a year, starting in February of 2016. This trip is our way to "taste test" where we'd like to move, after living in San Diego for 20 years. We want to experience what real life is like for locals as we go, so instead of just stopping at The World's Largest Thermometer, The Jolly Green Giant statue, and other cheesy roadside attractions, (which we'll probably hit a few of too), we were very excited to learn about WWOOF'ing, Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome.
I like made-from-scratch cooking and anything crafty. Mark has gardening experience and although isn't a seasoned handyman, is good to have around when some muscle is needed.
Ocotillo Wells is the only spot we've boondocked before leaving on this trip.
We both came to San Diego for college, and 20 years later are finally deciding to move on. Mark is from San Jose, CA originally, and I'm from Fredericktown, MO.
30', 2007, 5th wheel toy hauler, pulled by our Ram 3500. Overall we're about 46' in length. There are no slide-outs, but we do have a motorcycle inside that we're bringing along, so ideally will have space to take it out either before or after getting parked.
