It was good to see travelers from the state in which we lived for 40 years.
The only negative -- I was told they'd be here late afternoon. We understand that time gets away from us when visiting friends/family; however, our driveway is on a dark road with a deep ditch on either side. They arrived right at sunset. Our profile will be updated accordingly so it's clear about arrival time.
These are friendly people, who we'd definitely host again.
ItascaTraveler and his wife were wonderful guests ... We ate a lot of biscuit and gravy at hardees and swaped a lot of lies in the process ... Come by any time you arte in the area ...
Enjoyed their visit and discussing a wide range of topics. Believe it or not, older people normally have very interesting life stories to share. Itasca Traveler was rich with interesting and fun experiences. They are welcome back anytime.
We enjoyed having them stay and they are certainly welcome back anytime.
I pulled into the Frontback on Saturday night with a left front tire that was worn down to the steel belt on the outside. ItascaTraveler spotted it and was so concerned that I could have a blowout before I got home that he located a used replacement tire, had it dropped off at his place, and replaced the bad tire! It was an incredibly kind thing for him to do, and it took quite a while. I am eternally grateful and I made it home safely. Thanks so much!
They are located by an airfield and he has a small plane as well as an RV. He also designed and built his home. Also supplied electric and water - a good thing as it was very hot and humid. Interesting conversation. This is a great place to stay - not far from Jacksonville and St Augustine, very quiet, and you won’t find nicer people.
Itasca was so friendly and helpful during our short stay!! Beautiful property on an airstrip and we even saw a deer . Easy access from I95 as well. Thank you so much for the stories and hospitality!
We were pleased to be staying on an airpark spot and to see all of Itasca's toys! My husband is into all things flying and they spent a considerable time chatting about associated topics. Itasca is definitely a great mechanic and a fabulous host. The location is wonderful, quiet, and as stated. We didn't get to meet Mrs. Itasca but Mr. Itasca was gracious and open, spending a fair amount of time with us. We had everything we could possibly need and enjoyed our stay in Green Cove Springs immensely. Thanks for everything!

We had a great stay here and talked for hours with our host who was very accommodating and offered us electricity and dumping. This and similar hosts is why we continue joining BW. We just love to find out about different places and people. Would come back anytime and hope we actually can make it happen.
Our host was very understanding of our delay, he is a great communicator. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
We had wonderful stay. We just can’t thank enough for host’s kindness and caring. They seem to thing of everything to make our stay enjoyable. Their place in the airpark is very unique. We did not know there is a place like that ever exist. We mentioned to Mr. Robert that we wish we can have a ride on an airplane and he made our dream come true by asking his neighbor to give us a ride. Thank you so much to Mr . Robert and his neighbor. That was so kind. We had fantastic experience. Even though we had a little airsickness at the end of the trip, it still a lifetime experience for us. Thanks again to our wonderful host. We hope we can meet them again . God bless ItascaTraveler’s family.
Our time with Bob & Carolyn was short but sweet. Both were helpful in assisting us in set-up and finding things locally. We got to meet some of their neighbors and other family members, and the airpark they live in is really unique. Bob is an expert handy-man, evening repairing a damaged ladder we had on our RV! We hope to see them again soon. - Dennis & Pamela
Who knew a place like this ever existed? Instead of having a house on a golf course , you can have a house AND your hangar on a grassy runway. This was a perfect spot to park the rv. Our host made a 50 amp adapter so we could have a hook up. It was flat on a concrete pad. Our host was kind and welcoming. He let us stay extra nights. We enjoyed hearing about his plane, how he built his own hangar, and some adventures. It’s a great place to “hang” out.
Passionate Hosts and Very Accommodating. We had a Great Overnight.
Loved seeing the deer grazing in their yard.
We got stuck in the soft ground trying to back onto the cement pad and our host rescued us. They helped us get settled and we enjoyed hearing about their past travels and plans for future adventures. Very sweet folks.
