I'm a retired librarian, jelly maker, quilter, and gardener with two sons and 4 granddaughters. I have often traveled alone, but I bought a Class C motorhome last year and started solo RVing. Most of my trips involve visiting family, but my bucket list includes visiting National Parks and Monuments.
I am a serious foodie who loves to cook the old-fashioned way from scratch and host a YouTube channel called PreservingSweetness at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBgoXQepFJg7z_5ePnRbB4w where I share recipes and tips on cooking, gardening, and canning, and write articles on a number of topics for a website called SurvivalFreedom.com. Also, I have a Cottage Industry business where I sell my jams and jellies at farmers' markets and special events and have been known to give away a jar or two of jelly from time to time.
My 17-year-old cat travels with me.
I'm rather new at this, so I've only boondocked at a friend's house and a Love's Travel Center, but I'm looking forward to seeing new places and meeting new people.
My home is in Leesburg, FL, but I'm in the process of moving to the Richmond, VA, area to be closer to my sons, and will split my time between Virginia and Bogalusa, Louisiana, where my sister lives.
I sometimes tow my 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe with a tow dolly.
We hosted JellyGrandma for one night and she couldn’t have been a better guest. She is quiet and polite and was great to chat with for a little bit. She also left us with a jar of her homemade jam which is delicious.
I would have her back anytime!!
Jellygrandma was a perfect guest and we enjoyed her company. She brought homemade jelly and pickles as a gift! She's welcome back anytime.
We have so many HH and BW guests this is a canned but positive response.
It was a pleasure to host JellyGrandma. Just a brief overnight stay, but she was lovely to chat with and was a perfect guest!
It was a pleasure to visit with JellyGrandma, I’m glad she enjoyed her banana split and I look forward to enjoying the jelly! “JG” is the type of person I hoped to meet when I signed on as a Boondockers Welcome host.
