Shawn was super easy to communicate with through the entire process. He was very accomodating and he really cared about us. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable.
A very quiet location next to a beautiful lake...it was great waking up and taking a stroll by the lake with my fresh coffee in hand.
I would stay here again, in fact, if we go back to the East on this same route we will book a stay here!
Thanks for everything Shawn!
The spot was at the end of a road in a very quiet neighborhood, next to a nice lake.
The host was VERY friendly and helpful. He told us about the area and gave us two brochures. He convinced us to go on a bike ride on the pumpkin vine trail.
What first was just a quick stop and passing through, became a nice experience in Shipshewana!
Thanks Shawn, we loved it!
Host warmly greeted us, and showed us where to park. Invited us to use his backyard, where we relaxed for abit after a long drive in. Also provided us with a brochure for local attractions and shared some favorite places.
Shawn was very welcoming, we stayed 2 nights and it was convenient to see all the shops, and the flea market. Neighborhood was quiet and we felt safe.
Thank you for the wonderful stay! The host was very friendly and flexible. The property is lovely, right on the water. The nearby town is interesting and had a lot of great shops.
Shawn was a great host! The spot had 30 amp electric so that was a bonus. We sat on the lake at night with our cocktails and had coffee there with Shawn in the morning. Very funny guy that made us immediately feel comfortable!
Super nice host, located on a dead end street, so quiet.
Great place at the end of the road, level drive with lake right out front. Shipshewana Lake was gracious host to us after him having a day working in the Shipshe flea market. We settled in for the night before our evening meal after deciding it was nicer here than going back into Shipshewana to eat out! THANKS Shipshewana Lake for a great parking spot and being a great host !!!!
Great spot, level with everything you need, host was very helpful. Big thanks for sharing.
Nice quiet place at the end of the street. Was close to all the places we wanted to stop at. Enjoyed seeing the blue heron take off from the lake inlet .Our host was very pleasant and had a map and information of things in the area to give us after we got there.
Host was friendly and had several conversations while there. Nice location beside on a lake, with plenty of wild flowers and lily pads. As another review pointed out, there is a airport nearby, so yellow crop dusters take off and land frequently overhead.
After a LONG day of highway driving, it was amazing to drive down country roads with Amish horse wagons and perfectly kept farms. In a short time, we pulled into Shawns driveway where we were met with local info, an orientation to his property right on the lake and a offer to stay an extra day. We sure wished we could have stayed but we were on our way to a wedding. We would go back for longer if we find ourselves nearby again. Thank you Shawn! We look forward to hosting you in Maine!!!
This is an amazing place in a really nice, quiet neighborhood close to a nice Amish town with lots to do. If I were to come back this way, I'd stay more than 1 night and take the opportunity to do more. The host was very kind and helpful. Highly recommended!
We traveled from PA to this delightful location all in one day. Shawn has a little house and deck right near the lake that was a very welcome and cool spot to be after a long trip! We shared some wine we had, and Shawn shared some veges and fruit. He was very gracious and hospitable to us. Very highly recommended.
This is a beautiful spot, surrounded by Amish country, at the end of a road looking out over the water. Beautiful yard full of plant life. 30amp and dump both available and offered in the yard. Host met me when I got there and showed me where to park. We had a nice chat about our rigs! Driveway is nice and level and easy to pull into with the turnaround at the end of the road making convenient access for backing in. My 30ft RV fit perfectly. It was very peaceful except when the yellow plane flew over, which was quite frequently as others have mentioned. Overall I had a nice stay here and enjoyed meeting the host!
Excellent host with a fantastic area to visit . Quiet scenic lake front place to park . It was a pleasure to visit with Shawn. Looking forward to hosting Shawn one day .
Easy to back into very level driveway with 30 amps and water hookup. Shawn had info about activities in the area and was a delight to visit with.
Shawn’s spot is a delightful respite from travel through Indiana. He greeted us warmly and our rig fit great in his parking space overlooking a lovely yard - with a view of water. Great blue herons, water birds. So nice and restful. Very quiet for sleeping. Many thanks for a great stay.
Very nice host, met us upon arrival and provided us with local brochures and knowledge. Depending on the crop schedule, a plane might fly over. But once dark, it's very quiet.
Thanks, hope to come back sometime.
Had a very nice spot in the driveway at the front of the garage. Level and at the end of the street. Should have been peaceful too, but a small yellow plane chose last night to do so many fly overs I thought we were being given a private air show! Not a problem- it was entertaining to watch and he stopped before bedtime! Thanks for the local info brochure - we did a couple of the Amish shops when we left this morning and bought a lot of local stuff to take with us!!!
We really enjoyed the site and location was good to all the things we wanted to see. Our host was great, very helpful and friendly. Hope to visit here again.
Couldn't have asked for a better spot to visit all that Shipshewana has to offer! Didn't get a chance to meet host but he was super easy to communicate with if we had any questions. We'd definitely love to return again!
Shawn is a very friendly, helpful guy whose home is right on Shipshewana Lake. His yard is lovely & quiet & we enjoyed our stay here very much!
I really appreciate Shipshewana_Shawn's hospitality. The site is straightforward enough - a driveway at the end of a cul-de-sac, right off the lake. Shawn provides 30A + water as needed, and backing into his driveway was really straightforward. All night we were serenaded by frogs and nocturnal birds, it was private and we felt very safe. Thanks again!
Shipshewana is a great area and this host is located just a couple miles from town in a lovely rural area right next to the lake. He is new to Boondockers Welcome and we were his first guests. The host was friendly and helpful while we were setting up and we enjoyed chatting with him during our stay there. His property is beautiful and it was so relaxing and peaceful looking at the lake with the lilypads, reeds and sounds of the birds. We had a mechanical issue and he went above and beyond to help us get through it. We are looking forward to a return visit next time we are in the area!
What a peaceful night. I had broke my toe the day before and traveling was a little painful. So u just wanted a place to ice my poor little toe and rest it. We could not have picked a better place. Thank You so very much. The electric was much welcome on a hot hot day.
