*A quick note for last minute requests- be aware if you send me a request during the week, I may not see it until after work, so around 6. If I do not have someone booked here already, I most likely will be able to host you.
Hi! My name is Ed, I've been in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana for a few years after moving from South Florida. I currently work doing construction and some CAD and drafting work. I have a lot of interests, esp. music, climbing, jiu jitsu. I'm in the middle of a multi-year project camping out on a piece of property, building a cabin and a house. Cabin is finished, house is in progress. I have generally left politics (We don't have to talk politics!) and like to host people free of charge as a way to encourage people helping each other out without the need to spend so much money.
I am new to BoondockersWelcome but have hosted many people through various other Hospex sites
I am vaccinated for covid-19
Construction, Music, knowledge of local plants, maybe speak some Spanish?
Lost Horse, Hamilton MT
Great spot great host. Loved it. Close to Hamilton. Swim in the bitterroot. Pet the goats. Talk about life and stuff. Recommend.
The host was so gracious and friendly.
He obviously enjoys hosting guests and sharing his gorgeous location. The views of the Bitterroots and the stars at night are spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visiting with our host, and would love to come back some day.
Cloudview is an amazing place, and Ed is an interesting and gracious host. Hope to come back some day.
I highly recommend staying at Cloudview!
EP is a great host and Cloudview is a nice place to overnight. We enjoyed meeting EP who wanted to be sure we had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant. His Nigerian dwarf goats were an added bonus. Thanks for hosting us!
EP was a fantastic host; kind, generous, around when you need him yet not overbearing. The cabin, compost toilet, and outdoor solar shower were extra bonuses, as were the three adorable goats: Hercules, Judy, and Bella. I think I’m in love with them.
EP is carving out an existence for himself here that any of us dream of - sustainable living in a natural environment. Couple that with a peaceful, gentle, kind soul, and you’ve found a beautiful human who offers a slice of his Montana haven for travelers. So happy with this, my first BW experience!
Cloudview is a beautiful spot with a very gracious and friendly host. Quiet with great mountain views. Dirt road is hardpacked and well maintained, no problem leveling in the parking spot. Great spot for exploring the Bitterroot Valley!
This is definitely THE BEST Boondockers welcome stay that we’ve had so far! The views of the mountains and the stars in the evenings were something we won’t forget.
It’s so quiet and peaceful but most of all the host is a friendly down to earth kind guy who really extends his generosity by offering electric and an amazing boondocking spot . We leave feeling like we are family members Such a warm beautiful stay at cloudview. A million thanks !!!! We hope to return when we are passing the area again. :)
Access is via good quality dirt road. Parking area is in cul de sac next to fence at end of lane. We are 53 ft tow vehicle plus trailer and had no problem turning around. A big class A with toad might be problematic. Site has some slope, we were able to level pretty well. Host was really nice enjoyed meeting him and were happy to be his first BW guest.
