I am getting old but I still think young and work hard at learning new things. In recent years (after a career in city planning and real estate development) I have been studying sound design and Spanish language. I have produced a series of radio prgrams for WYPR, the NPR station in Baltimore and am planning to do some recording whille on the road this summer. I might focus on interviewing Vietnam vets to see how they have fared in the pandemic and how they are living in their '70's and '80's. As a traveler I almost always find ways to enjoy my surroundings and am careful to leave a very light footprint.
Living in Portland, Oregon (I did this for two years)
Going back to school after age 70. I got a degree in sound design three years ago.
How to travel by motorcycle to the tip of South America. I completed a 17,000 mile trip in 2015.
Recording sound, and creating a podcast.
No but I love most cats and dogs.
I am new to this so have nothing to report here.
Moving this year (2021) from Annapolis, Maryland to Durham, North Carolina. My original home is Bridgeport, Connecticut.
It's a 2014 Livin' Lite, very compact and well-designed. Contains head, shower, stove, refrigerator, heater and a/c. I tow it with a 2021 Toyota Highlander.
Tom is a good guest. One quiet night stay. Can come back any time.
We enjoyed having T as our guest. Even with some mishaps in his path along the way before his arrival, he was nothing but charming and pleasant throughout his visit here. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and time with him and would welcome him back any time.
I enjoyed hosting Tom at my newly "established" Boondockers Welcome site. He drove in a stranger and left as a friend. He's a wonderful storyteller with some incredibles tales (all real). Hopefully he'll come back one day.
Enjoyed hosting and meeting tomflynn. He enjoys learning about local history and eating places. I was able to help him with a camper issue and was sure surprised when he returned the favor with the best watermelon I have had this year. Thanks and safe travels!
Tom was a polite, friendly and respectful guest. I enjoyed visiting with Tom. He is welcome back anytime.
Tom was a thoughtful, self-reliant guest. We enjoyed sitting around the camp fire each evening and sharing stories of our respective travels. He is welcome back any time.
We so enjoyed hosting this quiet, adventurous man...E. took him on a mini tour showing him what farm life is like both past and present... He is moving to North Carolina to be closer to his grandchildren...and will be a super grandfather...He is welcome to return anytime so we can continue our visit!! Safe travels my friend....
Although I didn’t have much of an opportunity to visit with Tom, he seemed like a great guy. We would host him again anytime.
We enjoyed our patio visit with him He had many stories to tell. Hope he comes back again some day.
Tom was respectful of our farm and thoughtful to let me know when he was leaving.
Tom was a very nice gentleman. We enjoyed our short visit with him. So glad he got to experience some of what our area had to offer despite the rain. Would love to have him visit again.
I totally enjoyed having Tom stay here. He was a delight to chat with and I am glad he was able to enjoy some of what the area had to offer, in spit of the cold rainy time he spent here.
