My wife and I were both born in Olean, New York, she in 1941, me in 1938. We met in 1959 and were married in 1960. We raised 4 kids, 3 girls and our youngest was our son. We moved to Arizona back in 1978. Gerri worked for Rogers Corp. from 1979 till they closed the doors in 2001. I worked for Graybar Electric from 1982 till I retired in 2002. We sold our house at the end of 2002 and started fulltiming in March of 2003.
We started out with a 1993 Pacearrow. We traded for our present coach, a 2003 Fleetwood Excursion in 2004. When we first hit the road, we just did a lot of traveling to places like Florida, then up the coast to New York state, then New England. Then back to New York and then to Arizona where we stay for the late fall and winter. After three years of just buming around, Gerri thought it time we started working for our campsite.
This is when we became workampers. First for a company called American Land and Leisure out of Utah. We were camp host at Sand Lake in Dublin, Michigan. The following year was at the Flaming Gorge in Utah. Since then we have worked at Buttonwood Campground in Mexico, Pennsylvania, Spokane Creek Campground south of Keystone, South Dakota, KOA in Seligman, Arizona and the place we come back to each fall, Superstition Lookout RV Resort in Apache Junction, Arizona.
Pretty much a Jack of all trades and Master of few. Do some tinkering with older cars. Do a little cooking. Can find my way to most places without much map studying. Know a bit about computers.
A few of our boondocking adventures have been on the Mogollon Rim in north central Arizona, our sons land south of Arizona City, both north and south of Quartzite, Imperial Dam area in California, along the Pacific Coast Highway, a lot of Indian Casinos across the country. My buddy Loopy's front yard and my cousin Kenny's front yard.
Our motorhome is a 2003 Fleetwood Excursion. It's 38 feet long and has two slides. It has a 330 Cat diesel engine with 6 speed Allison tranny. Haven't had too many problems with it since purchase. It's home.Oh, and no, we don't have any funky decorations. We do not own any land, so I can not offer any accomodations. Really sorry about this.
