Prior to February 2000 my husband was an Avionics Engineer for over 30 years and I had my own business. We both retired in 2000 and left out a couple of days later to full time. We thoroughly loved doing that. We did that for eight years before we needed to stay closer to home due to medical issues. We are hoping to hit the road again part time before too long. The last few years we have traveled a lot, but would return to home base for a period of time before going out again.
My husband is pretty handy with wiring problems and satellite TV issues. I enjoy cooking, especially making bread and cinnamon rolls.
We have a 9 year old beagle mix. He usually travels with us.
When we travel we don't always know where we are headed or how long we will stay. We start out with a general plan, but are usually open to changing those plans depending on new information from fellow campers, or information from a rest stop as we enter a new state, or a local Chamber of Commerce that we stumble across. We love to winter in Arizona as we have two grown grandchildren living in the Phoenix area. We love to go North in the summer and east or west in the Spring or Fall. We love the scenic locations, especially with a lake nearby and trees to sit under and read a good book if we are just having a leisurely day at the rig.
We live in a rural area close to Andover, KS. We are about 8 miles from the city of Wichita.
We pull a 35 foot Cedar Creek Travel Trailer. It is a 2006 model with 2 slide outs on the driver's side. We have installed a chair lift by the door since my wife is disabled. With the slides out it is wide enough inside for her walker.
Nice and quiet. They came by for just an afternoon and overnight and then headed on south. Very nice people and no trouble at all. I'd welcome them back anytime they wanted to drop by.
We had a nice night at Audrey’s place. We had more than enough room to park our rig in their driveway (which was nice and level) and put out the slides. We chatted with Audrey and her husband about their full time travels and they gave us some pointers for when we head to Alaska. Very nice couple. Thank you for having us, we really appreciated your hospitality!
We had the pleasure of visiting with Audrey and her family. We sat around for a while after our arrival and chatted about lots of different things. This is a very gracious couple and anxious to please all the visitors that come to stay with them. Would like to extend my sincere appreciation to them for taking care of us as well as providing Water and Electric for us. It was a wonderful evening. Thanks! Travis
Awesome hosts! Helped us back into the rv spot. Had electrical hook up ready for us. Enjoyed a delightful visit in their home. Even made monkey bread for us! They came at night to collect our garbage! Delightful! Thank you!
We want to say thank you so much for an extremely enjoyable stay with Audrey L and her husband. Some of the things that we learned about each other were astounding. It is amazing the coincidences that you run into when visiting with such great people. They were very accommodating and helped us decide what sights to see while in the area. Our conversations were lively and fun. The site for our trailer was perfect. If we are ever in the area again, we will certainly request staying with them. Thank you!!
Hosts answered calls promptly and were very helpful. We arrived late, but he came out to meet us while we parked in the dark.
Level parking and quiet location. Easy to back into. Very personal and helpful couple. We enjoyed the stop over and would recommend it to anyone.
