Cautious campers

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

We are both retired and have been campers for many years. We love the ability to get out and enjoy our environment. We are not super adventurous but we do like to visit new places. Our interests include walking and bike riding. We love the ocean so when we get the opportunity we head west or SW. I am a retired engineer and fill my non-camping time with various home or RV renovations that usually starts with a CAD design project. My wife, likes to sew and her talents have been put to great use in supporting various trailer interior and attaching Dome tent upgrades.

Skills & Expertise to Share

My background is aircraft and vehicle component design and manufacturing. This has enabled me to confidently design/make and install various internal storage compartments in our trailer to make effective use of a small living space along with various external upgrades. The recent installation of two 160W solar panels involved the design and manufacture of a custom mounting arrangement to accommodate the panels which has greatly enhanced our ability to extend our dry camping opportunities without the need to use a generator. We love our trailer which is currently a Forest River RPod.

Podders's Pets

We love pets but unfortunately at this time we do not believe it would be fair to subject them to the type of lifestyle that we have which is frequent road or air travel (the latter prior to Covid!).

Favorite Boondocking Locations

We have a preference for the National, or Provincial/State campgrounds. We have travelled across Canada to the Maritime provinces and would like to return one day in the future. We have lots of great memories travelling the Gaspe Peninsula/Nova Scotia/Newfoundland and more. In normal years we would travel to the west coast of the US along the Washington/Oregon/Califorina coastal corridor.

Podders's Hometown

Our home town is Kelowna which is a major fruit growing and tourist destination area, located in south central BC, Canada.
