PleinAirCedar describes what I do and who I am! I love plein air painting (French for painting outdoors). I also work in a studio located behind my home. I love traveling in my small RV where I can paint and enjoy the outdoors. I am a fan of dogs, horses and organic farming. The area where I live in know for their organic farms, orchards and ranches. I also like meeting people! I love learning about modifications to my RV, home and other handy things. I think I was an inventor in a previous life, lol!
I am a professional artist and work on location. I don't have a gallery open to the public so there is no traffic from others coming around.
I am pretty handy and can fix many things. I can also figure out how to fix a lot of things and can help work out solutions to many issues.
I love gardening, especially dry xeroscaping.
I do not currently have a pet but in the past I've had dogs, domestic and exotic birds, mules and horses in my life. I hope to get a small rescue dog later this year. My best dog ever passed almost a year ago and I am still sad about loosing her.
I love boondocking in eastern Utah, especially in the San Rafael Swell area. I also love alpine Colorado with areas along Kebler Pass prime. Horse Ranch Park is nice as long as the manure isn't too thick (this is a favorite place for equestrian camping when the pass is open). Flies are thick sometimes. I also boondock in the red rock areas west of Hwy 50 in western Colorado.
I am outside a small western town. We are in a lovely little valley under alpine peaks. We have lots of festivals and outdoor attractions. Wineries offer tastings from summer to fall. There are goat dairies, flower farms and much more in the area. There is a lot of agrotourism as well as plenty of public lands surrounding our valley. The Red Rock country of western Colorado is just a short drive to the west. Alpine lakes and amazing hiking trails surround our valley. It is a short drive from 15 minutes to an hour to get to some beautiful cool high country.
