Wildergimp was very welcoming, offered electric, water and dump if needed. It was “social distancing season”, so we had a quick chat, got set-up, rode bikes on lake park path and had a quiet evening. Really embodies the Boondockers Welcome spirit! Thank you.
Nice place with friendly hosts. Easy secluded parking from the alley side, had no issues backing into the wide spot. Sewer, 15 amp, and water are all centrally located.
Mel, the host was so fun. There was an Arts festival the weekend I stayed. I was close enough to the festival which was on the Lake to lock their in both days.
Amazing hospitality, great location for easy access to lakeside parks, trails, and sportsfields. We were grateful to be invited to play pickleball two days in a row. Even got free lessons from a pro!
Best of all was the hospitality and friendship shown by our host. They went above and beyond. Thank you!!
Hosts were very helpful in finding the right hoses and connections to empty my tanks! Very much appreciated!
Mel told me about area attraction, Bok Tower, and even invited me to play pickleball!
It was very nice to be at Lake Wales. My host make my vacation really interesting and the place is very clean with a very special parking made of shell.
So if you want a quiet place you won't be deceived and it is close to the lake and you will be able to see lots of different species.
This spot was perfect for my crossing the state from the gulf coast to the east. Quiet neighborhood. The house is just a block from a nice lake with a walking trail.
I would stay again.
From the moment we pulled up Mel and Mark were very accommodating. She even went thru the hassel of cutting branches for us that may hit our rig. They definitely make you feel at home. Wish we would have had more time to chat with them but we were only there for the day. Highly recommend a stop if your in the area.
Great host in a quiet neighborhood. We really appreciated being able to stay!
My first boondocker stay, fabulous...just wish it had been longer. I left with a big smile on my face. The bar was set high by Wildergimp, everything you could need plus so welcoming. Thanks for your enthusiasm and good conversation!
We arrived and our host greeted us and invited us to play Pickle ball. We never played before but our host gave us a lesson and we had a great time!! We shared a meal afterwards. Wonderful host, we higly recommend this as a place to stay!!
Looked like a nice town, never had enough time to have a look about. Hosts where lovely!
I stayed with these lovely folks for a few nights. Very helpful and informative.
I've been away from rural America for a while and Lake Wales was a refreshing change. Walk around the lake, watch some little league baseball, go for a bike ride.
I also spent a day shooting the Bok Tower Gardens - https://worldview.smugmug.com/Travel/Bok-Towers-Gardens. Well worth the visit.
I'll be back !
Great Folks, kind hosts! A nice flat spot in driveway in a cute quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the nice lake. Great walking or biking paths around lake! Easy to find; his helped direct me into narrow drive & out next day. Offered me an extra water hose to reach their spigot which was great. Enjoyed my conversations with host about the local geology of "The Ridge" and shared interests. Another wonderful & appreciated BW experience!
The host is amiable and the neighborhood setting peaceful. It's a great spot for central Florida sightseeing. Don't miss Bok Tower Gardens if you're in the area. We stayed Jan. 30, 2017.
