We are a hard working couple that loves to head out in our RV. We also enjoy meeting fellow RVer's and making new friends. We enjoy our little scenic part of the world with just the simple things at hand. We are located close to two beautiful ponds. Trussum Pond and Trap Pond.
The views from our little homestead include horses in a neighboring pasture, many types of singing birds, and vocal tree frogs. We have deer visit in the back yard along with other critters that tend to be harmless. The world just kind of slows down out here in the country.
Network Engineer
We have a grand dog that visits us during the week and two very spoiled indoor cats.
Delaware (for now). The goal is to add to the list in the near future--stay tuned.
Laurel, DE
We have a 36' Fleetwood Southwind Class A
J and M hosted us over the summer and we soon struck up a friendship I have no doubt will last for a long time. They decided to venture our way for a week, and even thought their visit was marred by a couple of us hosts being ill, we still managed to have a good time. They had the chance to visit some of the local attractions and I think enjoyed themselves. We look forward to being together again with them when they return to have our shop install a new generator in their rig.
This was our first time using our Boondockerswelcome membership and glad it was with Jhelliott. Our host was very accommodating and welcoming. We definitely recommend a stay and plan to do so ourselves again.
Jay was very welcoming and generous and knows how to make you feel right at home straight away.Who’s place is great very peaceful easy access in and out great stop over thank you Jay
This was our first night out on our winter trip south, and our hosts gave us a warm welcome just as the sun was going down. We didn't have a 50-amp adapter, but they let us use theirs, which was great. We had a short socially-distanced visit before we settled in for the night.
This host is really fun to talk with. He made us feel welcome and at ease. We enjoyed stories of their travels and life. The yard is lovely as is the area where they’re located. They gave us great ideas for our travels. We definitely recommend this place as a good place to stay. We stayed 3 nights.
If you get a chance to stay with J&M you'll be glad you did :).
If you get a chance to stay with J&M you'll be glad you did :).
J & M are not only great hosts but great friends. We love visiting with them.
Three night stay at this big rig friendly location. We parked on gravel drive with 50A and water available. Nearby Trap Pond State Park has dump station for $10 that is also big rig friendly.
There are plenty of food and shopping services available nearby.
A great stay with very friendly hosts. We hope to enjoy another visit next time we pass this way.
Sadly we did not get to meet the hosts but know we would have loved visiting with them from the phone calls and messages that we shared. This is a great, quiet, level location and we would not hesitate to return in the future. If you’re in the area don’t pass up a great stay at jhelliott’s!!
Our first time using boondockers and it far exceeded our expectations. Our host was fantastic very accommodating and great conversation.
Down De beaches and we didn't feel like coming home yet. Jay and wife allowed us to stay 2 days checking out their area, two large flea markets within five miles. Thank you and look forward to another visit where we can spend some more time talking motor homes Lol.
This was my first time staying with BW and it was a great experience. The host provided WiFi, power and water and was friendly and helpful. We arrived later than planned and he was flexible and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!
J was a great host! Location was super convenient, easy to pull our 36' travel trailer in & out of and he was even generous enough to offer 30/50A power. Nice quiet location. We were invited to hang out & chat on the deck but unfortunately already had plans to see family. Hopefully we can swing by this location again in the future and get to chat more.
Quiet location, convenient to area and a very accommodating host. We were greeted on arrival and set up, after which we were invited to join host (hostess arrived a short while later) where we had the first of several short sit down, get comfy and talk.
During our stay it was exceptionally hot out and our host checked to be sure we were comfortable. Because he has electricity available, our a/c was humming happily and so were we.
This is a return to location for us.
We enjoyed our very first boondocking experience as a guest with these incredible hosts. They were extremely accommodating and helpful and we took pleasure in our late night chats in the screened in porch. From their home we had easy access to the Delaware and MD shoreline and even caught the ferry over to Cape May, NJ for the day. We would give this spot a 10 out of 10!!!!!!
A nice place to stay.. Thank you Jay & Marcia for letting us stay at your place. Very comfortable. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Our stay here was wonderful. The host was very friendly and welcomed us in like family. He was also very helpful in suggesting local beaches for us to try out. Top notch hospitality!
Jay and Marcia are absolutely incredible! They brought me into their homestead as if I was part of the family. Im so grateful to have met them both and stay at their piece of paradise. Waking up and seeing the horse farm outside my camper was a memory I will never forget. They even let me join their family crab cookout. So fortunate to have met my new friends and hope to see them again soon!
So glad we met Jay and Marcia. They are wonderful people and awesome hosts. We were lucky to stay with them.
Absolute great people. Quiet farmland setting. Nice area with rich family history. Jay and Marcia welcomed us with open arms. We have new "old friends".
Quite place to stay and get caught up on emails with really fast internet. Jay a great host with excellent communication to get us to his site and RV knowledge from years of experience. We'll be back when we get more time.
We spent 2 very comfortable nights here after three long days of driving. It was a nice level spot, easy to park and easy to find. The hosts allowed us to de-winterize and fill our water tank. The excellent wifi was much appreciated! Thanks for everything!
Great to see these folks again. Hope to see them again soon
We loved our stay at Jay and Marsha’s place
They were super hosts and the site was terrific. We stayed 2 nights and explored the beach and Salisbury areas one day.
Our friendly host greeted us upon our arrival and helped us into our site for the evening.
Convenient location right on our route of travel.
Jay was a great host and very hospitable. We needed a place to leave the RV for a few days while we went down the beach and stayed at a beach house. Jay offered to keep it on his property and even offered an extra day if we needed it! Thank you!
I had a good stay at jhelliott, he always enquired about our needs and was always helpful. His place is large and easy to setup in a great location. The best part about stay with jhelliott is he allowed us to stay for 5 days which was enough time to get some work done on my RV. Hope to see him soon when he travels our way.
Totally peaceful! This is the best way to describe my stay at this farmstead! I left the hustle and bustle of the beach area and found a great quiet place to relax!
Since I am relatively new to RVing, Jay’s sharing of his vast knowledge of RV life was especially appreciated!
Hopefully, you ,too, will get to stop and visit with this great couple…You’ll be glad you did!
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at this wonderful property. The host were extremely welcoming. Great conversation and very engaging. We feel like we made lifelong long friends. Highly recommend this Boondockers Welcome location.
We found ourselves without a place to stay during the Memorial Day holiday and reached out to Jay. He quickly accepted our stay and followed up with tons of information about the area and the spot where we would park. We knew we picked a great spot, but we didn’t know how much we would enjoy Jay and his wife. We talked about everything and quickly became friends! Jay made sure we had everything we needed and that our stay was pleasant. Now to figure out how to work in another visit later this year!
We needed to stay in the area for my husband's work, and this location was perfect. Our hosts were so friendly and kind to our family, they definitely went above and beyond. Our kiddos enjoyed playing in the big yard, and we all had a great night around the firepit. We look forward to staying again when we come back to the area!
What a great experience! Jay and his wife were so nice and helpful - so thankful I was able to stay here for 3 nights as part of my #moneyprotour - Jay was full of expert tips, insight on the area, and an overall very cool guy! Can’t recommend him enough! Thank you!
Just overnight in 29 degrees to get a head start going South for warmer weather, It helped a lot and the host was friendly and helpful. Hope to meet up again with fellow Air Force vet. But in warmer weather..Bluecat in New Orleans
We had a great stay even if it was quick. Jay was very understanding even though we arrived later than expected and helped get us set up quickly with full hookup. We highly recommend their place for boon docking. All in all a great stay.
Excellent hosts here that enjoy welcoming guests. Delaware was a pleasant surprise and the Elliott's were very accommodating. J makes a mean chili, and they were fun to talk to. Certainly recommend a stop.
Very accommodating host. Responded quickly to my request. I made a change to my arrival and host said it was OK. Easy access to the location and easy parking. Even had 30amp to plug into. Nice view out our window. I will definitely keep him at the top of my list of best host. This was my first boondocking experience and it was very positive.
Appreciated very much our stay. Seen the circumstances (humid and hot) we were happy to jave connected to their power an let the a.c. support our stay. Jay is very supportive and friendly. Unfortunately we couldn’t meet his wife. Nevertheless we enjoyed and highly recommend this host.
We had the pleasure of spending 2 days with our host as we escaped hurricane Florence. jhelliott and his wife were amazing hosts, and we especially enjoyed learning all about using our new Instant Pot. Our host is a pro at using one and shared recipes, cookbooks and food prepared in one. He also told us about the National Folk Festival happening nearby. Can't say enough wonderful things about this couple. Truly a great experience. Hope our paths cross again.
These hosts really understand what it is to be hosts to big rig fulltimers looking for Boondocking! They offer everything you might need and more. They were incredibly gracious. And bonus...we thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with them! Fun, Fun, Fun in OC MD! They gave us great tips for staying in the area, routes to take with our big rig, and awesome foodie suggestions. Perfect score! Thanks guys and look forward to returning!
We really enjoyed our visit here and highly recommend these hosts. They invited us for supper and we ate, talked, and sat around the campfire for hours!
We have a great time staying with them. They loved having our kids around. There was a lot of geeking out time over computer techs things and RV things. We enjoyed meals and drink together. Next time we are back we will have to do the blue crab feast. We learned about Delaware, instant pot cooking, and all the little things we need to do to help our RV keep on going. Thanks for a great stay! Oh and 50amp hookup was amazing.
Jay and his wife Marcia have been an ABSOLUTE pleasure to stay with. They're extremely friendly, welcoming and thoughtful hosts, and they've made my time here in Delaware a delight. Can't recommend them enough!! They are perfect examples of what makes Boondocker's Welcome such an incredible site.
We had a fantastic time with these generous hosts. We were welcomed like family and built a lifetime friendship very quickly. We had the very special opportunity to meet family and friends of Jay and Marsha and had a great time celebrating a birthday milestone. We will see you again either in Nova Scotia or back in Delaware or maybe even NY. This host has a great location water power and wifi and is close to Trapon State Park for dumping and recreation. Close to beaches and Tax Free shopping and a great little fresh fish Market. Thank you again. 😀
Very accommodating hosts. We had camper problems and were late arriving. Our host was waiting for us when we arrived and guided us into our spot. Very friendly and made us feel right at home. Would love to stay in the area a bit longer next time if we pass that way again!
We really enjoy their property. They where helpfull and generous. It's in quiet out of town place near trap pond state park. We hope to see them again.
He was waiting for us as we pulled down the road. He guided us into our spot for the night, and he provided us each a cold beverage the second we were set up. Later in the evening, we built a fire in his awesome fire pit and enjoyed sharing time together. Trap Pond State Park is nearby and has many functions and events throughout the year.
We highly recommend staying here; we'd stay again when in the area.
Talk about make us feel right at home!
Great people offering up great hospitality! We stayed a few days doing a show in a local store so finding this wonderful host is a huge plus!
Thanks
Bruce & Gloria
Had a real nice time in South Delaware.
It was my daughter's 14th birthday and I happened to mention to our host that we were looking for horseback riding for her while we were there. He went far out of his way to help us find a great instructor who also gave well beyond expectations.
The boondocking site is great with 50amp electric, even. The hosts were helpful and friendly in every way.

After waiting for four hours to cross Chesapeake Bay Bridge due to high winds, we arrived just shy of midnight and he was waiting to great us. We settled in and had a great nights sleep! Definately would stay again!
As we wait out Winter Storm Stella's stiff winds and rainy skies, our 19-foot campervan is tucked between the hosts' 35-foot Class A and their house to block the wind at his suggestion. We're plenty warm thanks to their generous use of electricity to keep our heater blowing and catching up on internet chores because their zippy wifi makes it easy. The rural setting is lovely, and we couldn't ask for nicer hosts.
Lynda and Robert in Campervan Zephyr.
We had a great time at jhelliott's house !
The place is quiet and perfect with water and electricity !
We will see you again, somewhere, one day !
J and his wife are relatively new to Boondockers Welcome, and we are too!
They didn't know what to expect when their first guests arrived and of all things, a couple of Aussies turned up. They were great hosts making us feel welcome and giving us some good advise about New York City as we will be visiting there soon and camping at the Liberty Harbor RV Park. Thanks for a couple of great days / nights. So next time you pop over to Australia, you are very welcome to call in for a visit!
