Retired and like to travel

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

Bob &Sandy Davison--Bob is a retired carpenter and a 40 yr army national guard veteran. Sandy taught 6th graders for 33 years before retiring. We met when we were teenagers while camping at Newfound Lake in NH. We have 2 children, a daughter and a son with special needs. After retirement we decided to buy a 5th wheel and travel. We've
traveled all but 9 US states, to include Alaska. We've also been to the Canadian maritimes as well as Newfounland. Most winters we snowbird in Florida, starting out in Key West and traveling around the state as determined by our interests. We have attended many Good Sam and FMCA rallies during our travels.

Skills & Expertise to Share

Not really, other than we've done a fair amount of traveling and have survived them all.

bocobe69's Pets

Not currently, however we did travel with our dog for about 12 years. The main issue we had was encountering campgrounds that either did not accept dogs or only accepted small ones.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

Key West, if that's considered boondocking. We stay at the military base, Sigsbee, so you have to be military to stay there. They have some full-hookup sites but most are dry.

bocobe69's Hometown

Sandown NH, a rural town in the southeastern part of the state

Damp but not dampened

These folks are Great and highly recommended! Excellent communication prior to their stay and along the way. They comfortably navigated themselves into their site and were the quickest and most level of all the guests that have stayed with us.  Newbies to BW but not to RVing and some of the nicest, most respectful and appreciative couples you'll find. It rained the whole time they were here but they remained positive and seemed to enjoy the area. We got to chat some and truly hope they come back when the weather is better. We know there are a lot more lively conversations around the campfire just just waiting for their return.

New to BD

It was a pleasure to host them for there first BD adventure. I think that they could see right away it’s not just the frugality of boondocking but it’s carefree lifestyle. Hope they continue to use Boondockers Welcome.
