Most of our friends were busy with their children's weddings, their first grandchildren, and thinking of life after retirement when we decided to throw caution to the wind and pursue a career as blues recording artists and touring musicians who perform original music. We both had been lifelong musicians and had made good money over the years playing cover music but the music and the lifestyle no longer appealed to us. It was time to either play music we felt passionate about, or quit playing entirely. We both love blues and blues rock, so in 2004 we decided to give it a whirl and see "just how far we could take the music."
Twelve years and five albums later, the Rusty Wright Band has toured the US, Canada, the US Virgin Islands, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, S. Korea and Japan, with more to come. Our most recent album, Wonder Man, reached #8 on the Billboard Blues Chart, #4 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart, and has been nominated for Album of the Year in Vintage Guitar Magazine's Reader's Choice Awards (alongside Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa, Pink Floyd and Sonny Landreth). Life is good. In 2015 we purchased and renovated a 35-ft National Dolphin motor home we've dubbed Blue Lulu; we are selling our house in Michigan, we're bringing our three cats on the road with us and are transitioning into full time RVers (an easy jump since we have spent a lot of time living out of a suitcase in recent years).
Good with computers, music gear, cooking, social media, event planning.
We haven't done much boondocking yet, outside of our driveway. We are relocating from our home state of Michigan to Florida, where we will be hiring a new bassist and drummer for our touring act. As of Nov. 2015, it appears our 2016 tours will take us through Tennessee, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Connecticut, and Europe.

Class A 1995 35-ft National Dolphin with one slide out. Its an older motor home but it is clean, in good repair, and is not disreputable looking. No unusual decorations. The wheelchair lift shown in the photo has been removed from the vehicle.
