Hello! My name is Bill and my wife’s name is Shirley. We were both born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. Together we have 4 grown children , 3 boys, a girl and 1 grandson.
I just retired last year after 50 years with General Motors parts distribution. I enjoy woodworking, fixing things and cycling. Shirley is a former pre-school teacher and enjoys gardening, music, art and baking. We both share a strong faith in God.
In 2016, to celebrate my 66th birthday we took 4 weeks and drove Route 66 (its 90th anniversary), starting in downtown Chicago and finishing on the pier in Santa Monica California. That was the beginning of our quest to visit all 50 states together. Then in the next 3 years we were on the road for an additional 13 weeks for a total of 25,000+ miles and finished traveling to all the lower 48 in our Chevy Suburban.
We honeymooned in Hawaii so we got that state checked off. Although Shirley has been to Alaska twice in years back, I have yet to experience that amazing State. So we look forward in traveling to Alaska together!
We bought our Roadtrek RV a couple of years ago and are now in search for our new home.
We had 3 basenji dogs over the last 15 years but currently have no pets. After our last pup died friends and family would ask when we are going to get another. We would answer "after we visit all 50 states". So I guess a new pup will be with us soon...maybe.
New to this site and boondocking other than a few nites at Cracker Barrel. Great food!
We have 2000 Roadtrek 200 Versatile
Roadtrek200 were friendly, appreciative and are welcome back anytime.

We had a great time when these guys came to visit. We spent plenty of time showing off the garden, trading stories, and sitting around the camp fire. Can't wait until they come back our way!
We enjoyed their time with us-in spite of the rain. Next visit maybe we’ll have more time to chat. They’re always welcome for a repeat visit.
Enjoyed hosting these friendly folks. Would love to have them visit again and continue hearing about their travels.
Great city couple that liked the small town, farming community we live in. We enjoyed sharing travel stories and just talking about life’s adventures. They are welcome back here anytime. We truly enjoyed hosting them. We wish them luck in their house hunting adventure and safe travels too.
