We have both recently graduated from college in the past couple years. Lea studied Wellness and Alternative Medicine at Johnson State College and Ayurvedic Medicine at The Kripalu Institute. She has been working as a massage therapist and Ayurvedic consultant since graduating in 2012. Eric studied Environmental Science and Ecology at the Community College of Vermont and just graduated in June 2015. He has worked for the last several years as a ski lift operator in the winter and a nature guide/gardener for kids and their families in the summer.
We both love exploring the natural world and traveling. We lived in a small cabin this past summer without electricity or running water, to partly save for this road trip, but to also live closer to the land and each other. We have a number of friends scattered around the country, but for the times we are not with them, and not at a National Park, we are excited to try out this great resource. We are both friendly and outgoing. We would be comfortable sharing a drink and some laughs with you, but also comfortable to leave you your space and camp quietly and appreciatively on your land.
We have equipped our modest Honda Element, the "Hotelement," with a sleeping platform and all of the gear we need for our adventures. We can cook and do anything else we need to in our vehicle and only require a small patch of land.
We look forward to meeting some wonderful people and seeing this wonderful country firsthand before returning to Vermont and starting our "professional" lives.
Lea can speak fluent German and Eric is a handyman and can make a good cup of green tea.
We like to be close to nature almost always. Sometimes we venture into a city for some drinks and laughs but most often we like to be near natural areas.
Lea was born in Bitburg, Germany and Eric was born in Hartford, Connecticut. We both currently live in Johnson, Vermont.
