Do you know or have you hosted this user?

We have been RVing for eight years now. In our "previous life" we raised beef cattle for a hobby...until we bought our fifth wheel. We got the fever, and staying home to take care of farm animals just wasn't as satisfying anymore. Along with our English Pointer, we love traveling from one end of the country to the other. We are in our young sixties and love meeting people along the way. We love the idea of boondocking (although we haven't really done much of it)

Laurieamalone's Pets

We have a 7yr old English Pointer named Allie. She loves people.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

We love to travel everywhere. WE took an extended to trip to Alaska in 2013. WE have done several pacific NW trips and we yearly go to North Carolina to visit our kids, so always try new areas in the beautiful state. We did a little boondocking in Alaska but mostly we do parking lots so would love to be able to actually stay at a home.

Laurieamalone's Hometown

We live 5 miles south of the little village of Nashville. We live on a hobby farm, except now that we are into traveling with our RV, we no longer have any farm animals. Our property is very quiet except for the owls and frogs. We live on 25 acres and there is plenty of room for an RV up to 30ft.

Laurieamalone's Rig

Rig Type: Fifth Wheel

28 feet long

We have a 30' Jayco Eagle fifth wheel (2002)one slide and we pull it with an 2006 Chevy Silverado. Both are in excellent condition. Even though the camper is old, it still looks really good. We love the floor plan compared to the new ones, so hope it makes it through many more seasons.

Laurieamalone's Travel Preferences

  • Has a tow vehicle
  • Travels with pets
  • Prefers an electric hookup
  • Has slideouts
  • Needs to run a generator

If hosting was a lottery, we continue to draw a winning ticket.

Laurieamalone were great guests, though we didn't get to spend much time together. They were here to visit family nearby, and we were happy to enable them to do just that. Cold outside weather and covid restrictions contributed to our limited connection time as well but, what time we did have with them was enjoyable. They were tip-toe quiet and very respectful of our property. We invite them back any time.

Enjoyed our visit with Laurieamalone. Fun sharing travel experiences. Sure hope they return in the future.

Perfect Guests

Great communication, arrived on time. We were not able to meet due to being out of town but we communicated on phone and security cameras. We have family across the street that were able to assist when needed, but things went smoothly and they were not needed. It's really great to know how many honest people are a part of Boondockers Welcome. We really hope to meet them on their way back home.

Wonderful Setting, Lovely Couple

We felt so at home here, enjoyed the green grasses and farm setting. The hosts were delightful to talk with, we enjoyed their company! The swing overlooking the property was a fave spot of mine and watching the bats emerge at dusk a favorite activity! We are thankful to have made new friends and look forward to future visits!

Fantastic first stay at Nashville Respite!

What a memorable experience we had at Nashville Respite! As our very first Boondockers hosts, L and M have set the bar high for all the rest. We enjoyed walking the mowed paths around their beautiful, secluded property, and spending time watching birds and deer by the pond. Highest recommendation. We’d love to stay here again!

Beautiful and Relaxing

Peaceful RV site with water and electric. Truly a place to relax and forget about life's craziness. We loved the walking trails. Our gracious hosts went out of their way to make our stay delightful! We enjoyed Mooville's self guided farm tour and made some purchases at the local Amish store recommended by our hosts. Absolutely wonderful and memorable stay. Highly recommend!! Thanks so much!

Had a very nice overnight stay.
Beautiful property with great walking trails on the grounds. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

Another great stay

We enjoyed our two nights here. Our host helped us get situated and we had electric and water. Were able to walk all over and our dog enjoyed the new sites and smells. Our host and hostess were very helpful telling us of different places to see. We did manage to get to Moo Ville for some great ice cream. Our stay here enabled us to reconnect with old friends that lived close by. I was fun being able to visit with our host and hostess and share tales of our travels and family life. Would try and stop again if we ever get back in this area.

Peaceful country stay

Hubby and I stayed for a 1-night getaway. Our hosts were unavailable but gracious enough to let us stay anyhow. We would have loved to chat with them about their adventures--they sound like very interesting people! Directions were great, property is beautiful, parking spot was level, everything we needed for a great stay! Bonus: just down the road from Moo-Ville dairy farm and creamery if you and your kids wish to tour a working dairy farm, visit the petting zoo/playground, and indulge in some delicious ice cream. The mown paths around the property allow for leisurely strolls and beautiful views full of fall color this time of year. Fantastic for bird watching!

Just in time!

We were trying to do our 1st Harvest Host at the Moo-ville Creamery, without water or electricity. It was horribly hot and we weren't managing well. After eating as much ice cream as we could, I decided to look for a boondockers near there and were blessed to find these guys. They answered our request just in time and offered a cool peaceful retreat, on a gorgeous lush property. The hosts helped me hook up an extension and visited with us for a bit before letting us settle in. Would love to visit again, but would love to stay longer than one night. Unfortunately we were just passing through. Blessings to them both.

A beautiful homestead and a fascinating conversation with "Lauriemalone" (and husband) about the AT Trail. Katy and I hiked the vast fields (mowed paths), fished the two ponds, found a fawn, had a campfire, slept peacefully, drank artesian spring water, discovered a honeybee hive, and the next morning upon hitting the road, stopped at Mooville for a hot fudge sundae. (delish!) Thank You M & L.. I sincerely hope we see each other again.

Great Stay

Laurie & Mark were delightful. Even though they just returned from a 5 week trip, they helped us get situated and told us about their place and area attractions. Highly recommend.

June 2019

Nice and quiet

Hosts were so sweet to let us come at the last minute! Especially, since they had just returned from a trip and had been on the road a long x.
They left the plug handy for us, so we could hook up quickly. Nice and quiet farm. Got to meet them the next day. Super sweet! Kids and I really enjoyed visiting 😊

A wonderful stay!

We enjoyed meeting you and thank you for for letting us stay at your place. We had a very peaceful sleep, just faint sounds of nature, it was great. You accommodations were nice, if we pass through the area again we would love to stay at your place again. Thanks very much.

Nashville Respite has a great location in the country. The site faces the sunset on a sprawling 25 acre property. A nice chat around the fire was a great way to end the night. Thanks!

The Hosts have a very peaceful parking location. Birds chirping and some frogs croaking at a distance. We sat in the shade and just enjoyed life.

Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. Had a great chat with our hosts before settling in for the evening. Such a peaceful spot - I really dìd not want to leave. Would love to have them visit us in the future, and would definitely stay again!
