We are retired for 4 years: we like hiking, we like golfing, we like to travel, and meeting people.
We travelled the United States for 9 Monts with our own camper, December 2015 till September 2016.
In April 2019 we will arrive in Halifax to travel for a half year trough Canada in the direction of Vancouver.
From Vancouver we planned a trip by boat to Alaska and from there back to Canada along the Alaska Highway.
Back to the east coast we like visit the Great Lakes district and we hope to enjoy Indian summer in Maine.
We are interested in history and architecture, we like to visit museums and we love nature.
We don't have particular skills,we like cooking and writing.
During our trip in 2016, we were member of Escapees, Boondockers welcome, harvest host, and RV Golfclub
We bought all the excellent e-books of Marianne Edwards (frugal-RV-travel.com) so we learned ‘ Boondocking ‘.
We have found many nice and beautiful places and now we know how to find good spots.
Amsterdam (Holland) in the beautiful canal area.
We have a Mercedes La Strada Camper Van, which in Europe is called "the backpacker Van", because it is only 20 feet long, 10 feet high and 6 feet wide.It is 15 year old.
Very nice couple I hope they got their repairs to their windshield done maybe meet up in Yuma
Had a wonderful visit with some great people. Wished they could have stayed longer we talked about their country and learned a lot. Someday it would be nice to visit them.
Having been to Amsterdam it was interesting to spend an evening with them.
We had a very nice visit as we have been to their city (Amsterdam) in our past travels. They are welcome to come back anytime!
Very disappointed when they had to leave early. We could have talked for hours! They will always be welcome at our house.
Its so great to meet kind people from your country, Feel welcome any time. Your RV made us dream, well, may be one day.
Delightful couple. Wish they stayed longer to get better acquainted. Wish them safe travels across Canada.
We were able to share our travel stories during the short time they were here. They have ambitious plans and will get to experience just how vast Canada is.
Mia & Clemens were fine guests. They would be welcome anytime. We wish them well on their long journey, filled with fun and adventure!
After being a guest ourselves for many times, La Strada was a great first couple to greet as a boondockers welcome host.
Had interesting talks about their travel experiences and they shared good information we can use on future trips. We wish them all the best on their big Canada trip and they are always welcome back at our home
We had a wonderful visit. We wish them all the best on their journey :)
Such a lovely, friendly couple! We truly enjoyed spending time with them each evening they were with us, sharing stories and listening to their travel plans. We are so pleased that they chose to be our guests. We would welcome them back anytime.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting La Strada! They have a great sense of adventure and are just at the beginning of what we hope will be an amazing journey for them, across Canada and into Alaska. It was great to share some stories and make new friends! La Strada is welcome back anytime!
It was a pleasure to host La Strada. I enjoyed chatting with them and hearing about their travels and life in Amsterdam. They rig was very awesome and fit in our small drive easily. Best of luck on your future travels.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting our guests from The Netherlands. They were very self sufficient, but we took advantage of the beautiful (and fairly rare) summer weather to sit on our patio and share travel adventures and other interesting conversation. They gave us at least as many travel tips and information on interesting places to go as we were able to give them. We wish them well as they wind down their 9 month tour of the US, and hope if they request to stay with you, you'll be available to host them.
Clemens and Mia were a joy to host, very good company and self-sufficient, with a small but elegant rig quite different from anything we've seen from any North American manufacturer. Make sure they give you a tour!
Very interesting folks from a far off land! Would love to have had them stay longer.
A little Holland humor with the title. They didn't wear wooden shoes. My wife and I had been to Holland and we shared stories about a few of their tourist areas. Very nice people. We hosted them for a few days and truly enjoyed talking about RVing and identifying places they might want to visit.
Enjoyed meeting these folks traveling the US from Amsterdam. Nice rig and nice friendly people!
What a nice couple! They only stayed one night, and had to leave early, so we didn't get much time to visit, but found them delightful and very self sufficient. Would gladly welcome them back anytime.
We hope everyone welcomes this wonderful couple to their boondocking location. They are truly pleasant. We are looking forward to their return visit.
