While still a ways from retiring, without kids and pets, we're spontaneous and highly mobile. Having traded down from a big diesel pusher, we love our little Sprinter. (For now)
We do everything with Gulfie (That's her name) We take her to farmer's markets, we go on long weekend road trips to northern USA and Ontario and Quebec. We take her on multi-week jonts all around North America. Soon we intend to venture to Newfoundland Canada...
We like natural wonders. (Think Silver Lake Sand Dunes.) We love historic little towns. (Think Oxford UK) We love ice blue lakes (think Jasper) and shimmering oceans.
We are social people, we are avid cyclists, hikers and foodies! He likes electric cars and pedelec bikes, swimming, woodworking, carpentry and photography, she likes reading in the sun and cooking exotic fragrant dishes. He's a helpful Mr. Fixit and she is just plain brilliant.
We enjoy pitching-in wherever we can. Need an extra pair of hands? Here we are!
Photography, eCommerce, RV repairs, building buildings, bike repairs, cooking, handy-persons, event organizers... (Apparently we think a lot of ourselves!)
Florida, Oakville (Because of Twinholm, Hi Twinholm!) Vermont, Rhode Island, Cape Cod, Arizona, Maine, Mass, Quebec, Cape Breton and Marin County CA. (Go see legendary tour guide Tom Martell who takes people to see the giant redwood trees in the Muir Woods Forest in the still of early morning ahead of the tourists. Lovely.)
We are so impressed with the community of Boondockers we have had the honor and pleasure of meeting. Hat's off to Marianne and Co. for bringing together all the nicest people in North America - and for being so responsive and skilled at making this site outstanding!
We live in Toronto , Ontario Canada. We used to live in Nova Scotia. We don't get asked if we live in Igloos as often as we used to ;-) Toronto was a nice city but it's become over-populated, very congested poorly planned and badly polluted. First chance we get, we'll move somewhere rural. Boondocker's Welcome has allowed us to experience many more communities than traditional accommodations ever could.
A Gulfstream Sprinter G31. Great king bed layout - lots of counter space for cooking. Literally cheaper to fill than our minivan AND goes early 10% farther! It fits our needs now and it fits down our narrow urban driveway! (There is only room for our motorhome, sorry.) It has every amenity including a WC and an onboard generator. Durable, dependable, simple and easy to maintain, we knew this was the rig we wanted all along it just took us three tries to get it right after we stopped listening to other people.
Avidsprinters were in search of the stars! They stayed over just one night and due to my teaching schedule and their foray out to the dark sky viewing area just north of us, we didn't get much of a chance to chat. Hopefully they will find their way back here when we all have more time to connect. They seem like the kind of people we want to know better!
Cheers from
Casita Philip
Great guest, Great travel conversation, Hope to see him again.
Enjoyed having AvidSprinters if only for an evening. He was very courteous and a pleasant gentleman. Hope he’ll stop again on one of his future travels.
Genuine, kind, helpful, knowledgable, courteous, and always welcome!
They originally came in 2015 and were so enjoyable we visited them in Canada last summer.
This year we went on a cruise together and then spent some time in our respective rigs in St. Augustine.
Don't hesitate to host them.
Avid Sprinter has many good recommendations, we are adding ours to the list.
Glenda and I enjoyed our short time with him, sharing stories, going to our local flea market and having breakfast at our local restaurant on the river.
We hope to see him again.
AvidSprinters came for a night and we had a great time for a week.....shared Thanksgiving and enjoyed many hours of great conversation and shared interests.
Thoroughly enjoyed meeting Avid Sprinter.
Pulled in, parked perfectly, invited me in for a tour of his rig. From that point we had a stimulating conversation and I learned a lot about his business and knowledge. I also enjoyed learning his viewpoints, from a Canadian perspective, about the recent U.S. presidential election. And, I gained more knowledge about the workings of our northern neighbor. An excellent, articulate and enjoyable guest and experience.
AvidSprinters are very kind and generous guests. Unfortunately my wife and I were so exhausted from ailing parents we were not very good hosts. They didn't mind and were comfortably self contained in their beautiful rig. You will not regret having them stay with you.

AvidSprinters stopped for one night, wish it could have been more. He insisted on buying dinner which was very kind of him. We enjoyed his stories and travel tales. Wish he would come back and bring his wife next time.
We enjoyed hosting Avid Sprinters for two nights.
Delightful and easy to have stay at our property.
Concerned with not intruding.
Charming and easy to talk with and be around.
Hope you come back.
AvidSprinters were quiet, respectful and polite. They can come again any time!
AvidSprinters were such quiet and thoughtful guests - and I never even saw them!
They arrived after I had to go out, but they introduced themselves to my husband with a bouquet of flowers and some delicious nuts from the Picard Peanuts outlet in St. Jacobs. How could we not love them? They stayed one night to enjoy the Oktoberfest activities in Kitchener, but were quiet upon their return and were gone before I got to knock on their door in the morning. Sorry to have missed meeting them myself, but my husband gives me the green light to give these guests big thumbs up!
