I am a retired independent school administrator and teacher of history. originally from Massachusetts, I went to Amherst College '64 and have taught in seven independent schools up and down the east coast. The last one is in Raleigh,NC where I currently reside. My 22' sports sedan is comfortable and compact enough to fit about any where. I boondock a lot because I need to stretch the funds as far as possible. My hobbies are biking and hiking. When my wife was alive, We travelled the country biking Rails to Trails routes and greenways of various cities.
I have been RVing since 1972, travelled across the cuntry about 10 times and have 115000 miles on my current Isata. I can impart good information for newbies especially, if they want to boondock extensively.
no pets but they are certainly welcome.
we love the woods, lakes and mountains. I admit to loving to stay overnight in truck stops, walmarts, and Cracker Barrel parking lots!
Isata Sports Sedan by Dynamax. 22ft. Fits into parking spaces and is 9'10" tall. Bigger than Roadtrek.
This was our first experience using Boondockers Welcome and it was a very wonderful experience. Being newbies to the RV lifestyle we were able to learn so much from our hosts own experiences. They were very accommodating and it was great meeting them. Definitely have plans to return. It was a very safe and secure area. Thanks!
We had a wonderful time at Jim's home! He was very helpful communicating prior to our arrival with quick response times!
His driveway had ample room to park, and he was gracious to offer both water and electric hookups. He also welcomed us into his home, offered drinks, as well as use of his bathroom and shower.
We had wonderful comversations, and a great time getting to know Jim as he welcomed us like family members. Thanks for the fantastic evening, Jim!
We stayed overnight with them and had a great experience with our first boondocking. Could not have asked for anything better. Greeted Don and I with open arms, had great conversations and a good nights sleep. Thanks to them and this site. Hope to repay the favor when they travel South.
