I've been working too hard all my life. I don't want to do that anymore.

I'm thinking about what to say here ...

I worked as a stockbroker for 10 years in the '70s and '80s.
Then I had had a long stretch as an editor for The Tampa Tribune.
I have invested in real estate and worked in real estate sales too.

I've made things for my home:
Art, furniture, décor items.
I've gardened and had chickens.
And I have cooked for 20-plus people on many occasions.
I've sailed to Cuba, the Bahamas, the Florida Keys & Dry Tortugas.
I have bicycled across Florida, and I usually walk 4 miles a day.

I was painfully thin as a child and young adult, yet now I have a problem with my weight.

I am a recent widow, and I am enjoying the transition from constant work to retirement.

Skills & Expertise to Share

At the moment I am focused on simplifying my life.
What would you do if you could do whatever you want?
Change my buying habits? Quit some things that clutter up my life?
Enjoy more people who make me laugh? Develop relationships that seem more meaningful? See more sunsets and sunrises? Hear the music more often? Dance more? When I take a minute to think about the people I like the most, and the qualities I appreciate about each of them — humorous, kind, hospitable, gracious, good listener, patient — I don’t think for a single minute about the stuff they have. It's not about the stuff. I can take a picture to help hold onto memories of the stuff, yet mainly the memories I value are of the experiences that happened in the places with people who contributed to those moments.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

Just getting started, however I was raised in a Florida family of 6 who camped a lot -- from the Florida Caverns to the Florida Keys and around all of the magnificent Florida springs: Silver & Salt Springs, (Ocala National Forest) Manatee Springs, Homosassa Springs, etc. I'm focused on the Southeast for now, until I get my sea legs -- I mean my road legs -- and then maybe catch up with one of the clubs that have members who caravan together possibly to Arizona and beyond.
