My husband John and I have been retired for three years and are planning to travel to Nova Scotia in the coming year. We live in Nanaimo,BC and look forward to hosting boondockers as we are able. In our former lives, I was a medical secretary and my husband was an industrial accountant.
Anywhere on Vancouver Island but also have had lovely camping experiences on the Washington, Oregon and Califormia coast.

They arrived later in evening and had to get away early, but very gracious and polite guests. Enjoyed our short visit and hope to get to your place sometime soon!
We were out of town when Brenda and John stayed. They left their site so spotless we would never have known they made their way here....except for the LOVELY card and gift they left on our front porch!!!! I had such nice email exchanges with Brenda and I was really hoping to make another new friend from Nanaimo. Now we just have even more reasons to make it to their beautiful part of the world. In the mean time....they are always welcome back here at The Mudbugs pad.
We loved our 1 night stay - it definitely was a ‘Home Sweet Home’. Very personable hosts who we enjoyed getting to know. Great paved and level parking spot! Thanks again you guys!!! Maybe we’ll see you in Ottawa...
Even though Brenda and her husband were having company for dinner they graciously welcomed me and offered a beautiful quiet place to stay. It is something we often Underestimate the value of... a safe and welcoming place to stay. Thank you so very much. I had to leave early in the morning for the ferry, but I do hope i will have the opportunity to return the kindness.
Brenda and John were so sweet, thoughtful and caring. I loved spending a couple days parked beside their home. It was perfect timing for fresh raspberry jam (tons of ride raspberries in their garden!) as Brenda was just finding a batch when I arrived. I can't say enough about these two. It really did feel like being at home with two dear friends. Thanks John and Brenda! Hope so cross paths again sometime.
Brenda and John are great people and wonderful hosts. Thanks again for sharing and providing a great stay on my journey.
Thanks Brenda and John for letting us stay with you on thanksgiving!
We left early because all of the other things we would like to visit.
Hope to see you again one day!

Very nice folks.
Easy to find and a nice quiet spot, just what I was looking for.
Our Home Sweet Home were great hosts. They are a great couple. We stayed at their place 2 nights, and each day upon our arrival they greated us with refreshments and delightful conversation. They went beyond what is expected to make sure that we had everything needed for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. The space provided for our small motorhome was paved and level and the right size for our rig. Their place is very well kept and the neighborhood is quiet. We very much enjoyed our stay at Our Home Sweet Home, we do not hesitate to recommend this host to other boondockers.
We stayed two nights with this couple. They both were lovely from the start!
Brenda made herself available for all of our questions and was flexible with our arrival times both evenings.
Their neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and we were able to plug in and fill up our water tanks. He also gave me the lead on directions to a free dump station.
Our Littles were delighted by their sweetness and couldn't believe that they weren't long-time family friends.
We would contact them again when visiting Nanaimo!
Their place was convenient to the main highway to the ferry terminals, easy to find, quiet & needed just an inch or two to level out our rig. They had water and electricity available all within easy reach.
Our hosts were as gracious, friendly and generous as you could imagine. We arrived needing just to organize and wrap-up a long road trip, and left with a couple of new, really kind friends.
Thank you again for everything!
