After a few years in San Diego—caretaking for my elderly Aunt and Uncle—I am now relocating to Austin, Texas. In the interim, I'm be taking a little sabbatical and looking for a relatively cool place to camp with my dog, Carly. I purchased a little teardrop trailer for our travels, and we're looking forward to some new adventures. Carly and I are currently headed toward the Flagstaff, AZ area, for some relief from the summer heat.
For work, I run a small nonprofit, and do some business development consulting. My work allows me to travel and live anywhere there is a phone and internet connection. I've lived a number of places throughout the U.S., including Southern California, Northern California, Oregon, Hawaii, Texas, Florida, and Georgia. I grew up in Chicago, IL and still have family in that area. I previously traveled for around the U.S. for about a year and a half in a VW Westfalia.
I'm a techy, so I have pretty good computer skills (mostly Mac) and I tend to be naturally handy with any kind of technology. I enjoy cooking, and have recently been learning how to cook in a Sous Vide—I think I've mastered a perfectly cooked steak! While I spend most of my time at a desk these days, I am pretty handy with mechanical things. I worked construction to pay my way through college; worked in building maintenance for a while, and also worked in the auto service business for many years.
One of my all time favorite camping locations was in Gila, NM. There was a great park nestled in the National Park with natural hot springs heated water.
I'm recently from San Diego, but was living in Atlanta, GA previous to that.
I'm driving a Toyota Highlander and towing a 5x10 Teardrop Trailer.
