We are retired country folk with a passion for gardening. Our hobbies include woodworking, travel and fishing.
We are and will remain un vaxed.
The decision is yours.
I have some carpentry skills and as a home builder have the skills to fix or repair most anything. I do some metal work and have a couple of welders and equipment. As country folk we are adept at most anything. Marjorie is retired health care and is an avid quilter. To put it mildly. We are both good cooks and we can/preserve almost everything we eat. Our garden is a source of food and pleasure and we spend lots of time in it. We are also 420 friendly so don’t be afraid to relax here.
We are cat lovers and will accept dogs that are well behaved and owners that clean up after their pets.
We have just acquired two new Siamese kittens. So be prepared to be met with cuteness and white devils.....
Our all time favourite location to boon dock is the Natchez Trace in the US, and have done the trace six times.
We live outside of the village of Dorchester, New Brunswick on Route 935. About five km from the village proper and within view of the inner Bay of Fundy. Our little village is famous for its Sandpiper festival to celebrate the influx of sandpipers every fall on the migration south. There are a couple of small eateries and one small store with a gas bar. The village also boasts a couple of museum buildings that are interesting. The village is located forty two kilometres from the tri city area of Moncton/Riverview/Dieppe where the shopping is great and there are many many eateries. In the opposite direction is the town of Sackville, about thirteen kilometres away on route 106. Another sixteen kilometres will put you into the border town of Amherst Nova Scotia. When coming from the west, take exit 482 off the TCH onto route 106. Follow it to the village of Dorchester and at the four corners half way up the hill take a right onto route 935. Keep right and we are about five kilometres from the four corners. Look for the naked board fence. There is a Boondockers sign on the fence. When coming from the east get off the TCH at Sackville and follow the signage to Dorchester. Route 106. Your gps will try to take you onto Route 935 just outside of town. Don’t take it unless you want to travel on a dirt road. A little rough but a nice drive and dusty. Follow route 106 to Dorchester and turn left onto route 935 at the village square.
This was our first Boondockers Welcome experience and it was awesome! They are wonderful hosts who spent time chatting with us and watched a beautiful sunset together. Beautiful setting with a view of Fundy Bay. Wish we could have spent more time there. Thank you so much!
Both the property and the hosts are very accommodating. A personable couple who makes you feel at home. They seemed delighted to answer all our questions about the area and their garden. Thanks for your hospitality and just for being cool people! Also, be sure to follow the hosts directions to the property!
We messed up our dates and they still welcomed us like family. Even though they had plans out that evening, they told us where to set up and help ourselves to water and electric. Also told us how to walk to see the tides at Bay of Fundy which was so amazing. Had a great chat when they got back and showed us their new Siamese kittens oh so cute. Just a wonderful couple and thank you so much for letting us stay at your place.
Arrived during a rain storm. Was greeted with a friendly welcome and shown where to park. Invited into the house for a wonderful chat, very interesting and down to earth people. Highly recommend this host!
I have always been impressed by the BW folks we have stayed at but these fine folk take it to a whole new level. I can't say enough good things about them. Just genuinely nice people. We had trouble with our towed vehicle and they recommended a good garage and gave us rides to and from the garage and also gave us great directions for sight seeing. We can't thank them enough. You will be very happy if you stay here
After we found their place (our fault....be sure to follow the map that they send and don't listen to Google Maps), they welcomed us with a flat parking spot, a water fill, and friendly conversation. Appreciate all the information about Newfoundland as we are make our way there. Nice to enjoy a few veggies for dinner that they allowed us to gather from their garden. Thanks for being such friendly BW hosts!
This was our first stay with Boondockerswelcome and we could not have asked for a more welcoming couple. Outstanding hosts, we were welcome to help ourselves to fresh veggies from the garden.
Will definitely stay again if we are in the area😊
We could only stay one night but wish we could have stayed longer! The view of Fundy was beautiful, and our hosts invited us to help ourselves to fresh vegetables from their garden! Had a lovely chat as well. Thanks for making us feel at home!
We were received like kings by Frederick, his wife and their friends. They are extraordinary hosts, very generous. We thank them very much.
Nice place. I strongly recommend.
The kindest, friendliest hosts imaginable. Magical space, wonderful afternoon with hosts and other Boondockers. Wonderful experience, highly recommend.
We have extended our stay from one day to three! These folks have hearts of gold and have been extremely informative about what to see and do in the area!
We visited two extremely interesting museums with enthusiastic tour guides in each! A wonderful experience and so much more than typically found in small community or Large City Museums!
Very gracious hosts! If we would have needed a shirt, they would have provided the proverbial one off their backs.
Beautiful, well taken care of property with a huge vegetable garden from which we picked tomatoes.
Hesitate to mention the fields on the edge of their property so that no one gets the idea to pick "my” wild blueberries.
It was great to sit out with them for social time, exchange stories and watch them tame the wildlife ;-)
Thank you F&M.
We hope to be back next August.
Simply and totally " Great"
The host are very nice,
The location is confy and peacefull.
Ron and Helene
Had a great stay at The Vultures Roost. Beautiful location, quiet sleep but most of all the hosts. They did everything to make you feel welcome at their home. Had some nice conversations with them and we hope to come back when the sandpipers are actually around.
Fred and Marg are simply stated ....AWESoME
Just great and great stories and great place and great knowledge...just great great 👍
You'll never meet anyone more down-to-earth or friendly than F & M. Made us feel right at home and we hope to spend some time here on our return trip. Highly recommend!
This was our first time using Boondockers Welcome and it was fantastic. The region is beautiful, Fred’s farm and RV setup are ideal and they are helpful and charming.
If you are coming from the east make sure you get specific directions from Fred and follow them to the letter.
