Basecamp RCB is a good place on the way to the remote Ozark mountains.
We can suggest great off the beaten path destinations.
I am an independent 65+ year old woodsman with woodworking and outdoor skills.
I have backpacked, hiked and camped since the 70's.
My wife enjoys gardening, knitting, sewing and all outdoor activities.
We heat with wood in the winter and cut, split and stack our own fire wood.
We both hike, backpack, and camp. We both canoe and kayak local creeks and rivers.
Some places we like are: Acadia's Cadillac Mountain and down East Maine; Woodstock, New York; West Glacier Montana, Big Fork Montana; Salida, "BV" and Clear Creek Canyon, Colorado; Mt. Elbert and Leadville, Colorado; Snowmass-Maroon Bells Wilderness, Colorado; Crested Butte, Colorado; Sedona and Canyon Lands Arizona; Buffalo River, Indian Creek, Lost Valley, and Big Bluff in the Upper Buffalo around Ponca, Arkansas; Piney Creek Wilderness, Hercules Glade Wilderness, Roaring River and Flat Creek in the Missouri Ozarks.
There is plenty of campfire wood and fresh drinking water.

We pull a 2015 custom 13 foot teardrop camp trailer with our 2014 Jeep Trail Hawk. Our rig is a teardrop on steroids. It has inside table for 4, inside kitchen with LP stove w/oven and LP frig. We are self contained and camp just fine without electric and other hook ups. Fresh water is always nice.
Delightful people, we can't say enough good things about Basecamp RCB. They were so helpful, guiding us in the driveway, giving us brochures from places they've been that we're headed to. Great conversations and they invited us to dinner & we joined them for church. If/when we get back to that part of Missouri we will definitely stay with them again & highly recommend their RCB Basecamp!
Basecamp offered us a few options for our overnight stay, but we chose to back our 28 ft airstream on the side of their very long front yard. Our dogs met and got along, and so didn't we with our wonderful hosts. It was a hot day on our arrival and they delivered a pitcher of ice green tea which was very soothing. They were very generous in helping to plan a senic drive down to TN. Since their children reside in ME, we offered our place in CT for a stop on the way........wonderful couple who exceeded our expectations on meet and greet❗️<emoji> thanks from Ducky2 D&D
