Basecamp RCB is a good place on the way to the remote Ozark mountains.
We can suggest great off the beaten path destinations.
I am an independent 65+ year old woodsman with woodworking and outdoor skills.
My wife enjoys gardening, knitting, sewing and all outdoor activities.
We both hike, backpack, and camp., and we canoe and kayak local creeks and rivers.
Some places we like are: Acadia's Cadillac Mountain and down East Maine; the ADKs of New York; West Glacier Montana, Big Fork Montana; Salida, "BV" and Clear Creek Canyon, Colorado; Mt. We pull a 2015 custom 13 foot teardrop camp trailer with our 2014 Jeep Trail Hawk. Our rig is a teardrop on steroids. It has inside table for 4, inside kitchen with LP stove w/oven and LP frig. We are self contained and camp just fine without electric and other hook ups. Fresh water is always nice.
Enjoyed hosting Basecamp RCB on the homeward bound trip. Enjoyed the conversation very much. Early bird, I get up early and Basecamp was gone before I got up (must have been the Rooster crowing lol). Looking forward to staying with them sometime as well. :0)
We made a last minute request to stay with RCB Basecamp due to unseasonably CD and rain/snowy weather in our travels. A safe place with plenty of privacy. Thank you and we will mark our travels when we can visit and share again.
We had a very nice one-night stay at RCB. R and C are very gracious hosts offering any help one might need. They have two well-behaved dogs and our dog was allowed the run of the place. We filled our water tank with very cold, tasty water from the deep well and spent a quiet night on level ground. The only noise is an occasional car on the rural paved road and coyotes, owls and cicadas. Very peaceful and private; we didn't even lower the shades. We'll stay again if we're passing thru the area.
These folks were so incredibly kind to allow us to arrive on the day they were hosting their extended family for Thanksgiving, and even invited us to join them. I regret that we did not get to visit as much as we would have liked, as I had twisted by back on the prior leg of our journey and was really only comfortable standing or lying down. My husband luckily got to visit a bit with the gentleman and greatly enjoyed that.
The space is wonderful, wide open and easy to access both in and out. The property's trails were so pretty and our lab loved racing through the woods and visiting with the local dogs (and the cows in the next door pasture who came to check out our rig!). Communication was outstanding before and during our stay and we greatly appreciated some time in this quiet countryside to just rest and decompress, as we've been pushing a lot of hours and miles on this trip.
We hope our travels bring us back this way in the future as very much enjoyed our stay here. Thank you for the hospitality!
We had a great stay Randy and Kathy along with Maverick and Sophie their dogs. Great large grassy area to park and very quiet. I felt when I realized that Randy and Kathy had to go to work and we're sleeping in and hitting the road again. We really enjoyed talking with him can sharing RV stories. I hope they will get on the road soon and visit me at my place in Alabama. I highly recommend you check out their spot if you need a place to overnight.
First, I couldn't believe how beautiful the area was. There's plenty of facilities within 30 minutes for those who need it, they do have a water hook up. I was wisked off down the roller coaster roads to a fun night listening to Bluegrass music at the Roaring River State Park,(beautifulcool clear water). I was welcomed like a long lost sister. They practice a healthy lifestyle, which I need to improve on myself. They love minimalist camping but are waiting for the right time. As much as I don't want to loose them as hosts, I encouraged them to have a big sale and hit the road! Lovely human beings!
These people are very nice and very helpful. They have a roomy and flat area to set up. Their place is a short drive off the interstate; super accessible arriving and leaving, eastbound or westbound. It was a perfect place to stop for an overnighter when we were just passing through the area.
Basecamp RCB are great host and just plain ole' good folks! We enjoyed our stay with them and the short time (only stayed one night) we had to visit with each other. God has blessed them with a nice place in the Ozarks. I like to gift our host as we travel but, just the opposite happened this time. Thanks again Basecamp RCB and stop in and see us if you are in our area.
Super nice people! They took us on a hike through their property and invited us into their lovely home, dog and all, for tea. A wonderful stay on a great remote property!
Thank you both for being so great! Hope we have a chance to meet up again somewhere.
We have been 2 1/2 yearsfull time RV ers and we have enjoyed an amazing group of hosts all across the US and Canada, but never have we been so fully enriched as we were with basecamp RCB!! Great hosts, fun people, inspiring interactions, engaging couple, new friends, and oh yea lovely camp site.
Basecamp RCB was a wonderful experience. When we arrived we had to overshoot the drive and turn around and Randy was on the lookout for us and helped us land on his wonderful property. He showed us where to park and then gave us a tour of his place. After letting us settle in, Sofi, their super friendly dog kept us company while our host made us a big batch of top notch popcorn and we sat around shooting the breeze noshing on gourmet popcorn. We couldn’t have had a better time if we’d tried. Absolutely wonderful place people and time. We look forward to a return stay or to even have Basecamp RCB at our place when we get one.
Delightful people, we can't say enough good things about Basecamp RCB. They were so helpful, guiding us in the driveway, giving us brochures from places they've been that we're headed to. Great conversations and they invited us to dinner & we joined them for church. If/when we get back to that part of Missouri we will definitely stay with them again & highly recommend their RCB Basecamp!
Basecamp offered us a few options for our overnight stay, but we chose to back our 28 ft airstream on the side of their very long front yard. Our dogs met and got along, and so didn't we with our wonderful hosts. It was a hot day on our arrival and they delivered a pitcher of ice green tea which was very soothing. They were very generous in helping to plan a senic drive down to TN. Since their children reside in ME, we offered our place in CT for a stop on the way........wonderful couple who exceeded our expectations on meet and greet❗️<emoji> thanks from Ducky2 D&D
Bob and I will NEVER forget our amazing hosts Randy and Cathy. We stayed in what is like the front pasture, very private and peaceful. The location and ambiance of the place is not the story though, it was the joy of our hosts and would you believe even their friends that truly shine. They have loads of local knowledge and shared every joyful aspect of life in the northern Ozarks. Beautiful people, great boondocking site, exceptional experience. Take your journey a bit off the beaten trail and gift yourself with these terrific hosts.
