Clay & Cindy gave up the wilds of the Florida Everglades (Cindy was a naturalist, Clay was an airboat captain) to live in the open prairies of South Dakota. Cindy is the director of an archaeological museum/research center, Clay is retired. We raise chickens, have a couple of cats (Louie the Destroyer and the Duchess of Trouble) and one adorable Pomeranian. We have traveled from Key West to Montana in our RV over the past four years.

If you have tried to contact us this summer (2016), we apologize - we have not been receiving emails from this site. We will check it daily to ensure that we know when someone is interested in our location!

Skills & Expertise to Share

Cindy's passion is cooking - she once worked as a chef on charter yachts in the Caribbean! Clay can fix almost anything mechanical!

Horse and people heaven

Even though we were 2 days early and Clay and Cindy were out camping themselves, they told us to come on over and make ourselves at home. Having just come from the Badlands, the paved approach to the property was a wonderful gift. The drive was a little tight for our 39' plus horse trailer, but once in the drive the path to the back pasture was easy to negotiate and the area for us to park was a level mowed area of more than an acre. A huge plus and great surprise for our horses was a 5 acre pasture of knee high grass. The girls thought they were in heaven! Water was nearby, but we only used it for the horses. We met Clay and Cindy the next day; both fascinating folks with a wealth of stories. Definitely a 5 star experience for both us and our horses and will definitely stop again when we are in the area.

Beautiful Spot to Spend the night.

Cindy and Clay were our hosts for a night. They could not have been more pleasant, accomodating, and informative. Had a pleasant evening sipping wine and chatting. A 5 star host and hostess.
