Hi, I'm Joe and along with my wife Taylor and our two small dogs Higgins and Ellie we make up the Hickey family.
We love to travel and explore new places. We recently purchased a travel trailer of our own and have been busy planning a summer full of weekend trips.
We are looking forward to getting out of the house this year, meeting new people and seeing new places.
I am a career Firefighter/EMT. I hope that my skills are not needed but are available if a situation were to arise.
Yes, we have 2 small dogs. Higgins affectionately known as "Higgy" is a 2 year old male Havapoo. He weights in at a solid 13 lbs. He's loves a good lap. Ellie-May is our brand new Miniature schnauzer. She is just a puppy now but we expect her to grow to the 6-8 lbs range. Our little dogs love to travel with us and were one of the inspirations for getting us into the RVing community.
We are relatively new to the RVing community and are transitioning from tent camping. There are a few dispersed camping sites within the George Washington National Forest near Fort Valley, VA that are some of our favorite.
We own our home in McGaheysville, Virginia just outside of Harrisonburg. We are located at the base of Massanutten Mountain home of Massanutten resort. Within 10 minutes of the house we have some amazing restaurants, vineyards and breweries. The Shenandoah River is perfect for a calm tub or kayak float and its just down the street.

We stayed two nights at GingerYinzer's property and would definitely return! Our family checked out the great mountain biking nearby (about 15 minutes from the property) and the cool town of Harrisonburg. Sharing stories with GingerYinzer at their firepit in the evening was a perfect end of the stay.
Really enjoyed meeting and talking with GingerYinzer. Hope to be able to return again in the future The location has plenty of room and is easy to park and set up in.
we are sorry that our hosts were not able to be home and thank them for allowing us to stay, we had a very quiet and restful overnight.
Hospitable hosts, easy access, and great location. You have complete access to the yard to park wherever you’d like. Directly off of Route 33.
We didn’t take advantage of being so close to Massanutten, but what a perfect location if you were going to explore everything it has to offer.
Very nice folks. Warm and friendly. Answered questions about local area and looked to help wherever possible. Highly recommend staying here.
Thanks so much to our hosts. So nice and generous. We were delighted to be their first Boondockers Welcome guests. Pretty grassy site. Such an easy in and out. VERY convenient to Massanutten…literally across the road. We stayed while I was fishing. Highly recommend!
Had a great stay. Parked in their large lawn and took advantage of their outdoor seating area during the day. Enjoyed talking with them both and getting to meet their adorable and well behaved dogs. Would definitely love to visit again and spend more time hanging out with this great couple.
