Born and raised northwesterner who has traveled the globe at different stages in his life. Traveling across the United States in a vintage Toyota RV with my best friend and co-pilot Lucy the rat terrier. Traversing the United States in order to sell the RV and move down to Florida to take care of my aging mother. Joining boondockers welcome in order to enjoy the long trip across the country meet new people and explore new places without the hassle of other forms of parking at large commercial RV locations and or overpriced locations along the way
I am a jack of all trades and master of some! I have been handy in a number of different skills which of course I don't want to list here but there are many things that I I have become very helpful in achieving. My biggest employable skill is customer service, and professionally I've worked in the automotive industry for the last 8 years. I'm professionally educated in digital media and Motion Graphics as well as drama and philosophy.
Lucy is an 8 year old rat terrier mix who is highly trained well behaved and certified emotional support animal and medical alert dog. Lucy has been a part of my life on a daily basis and goes everywhere with she me, she has traveled, she has traveled well over 15,000 miles over with me, she is an amazing animal. Lucy has some separation anxiety when I leave her alone but it quickly calms down. She is a female so she does act a little bit Sprite around other female dogs at first, after 5 or 10 minutes and a quick doggy handshake, she usually Melos right out. If another dog shows me affection Lucy is quick to get jealous because she of course needs to be the focus of all my affections. Lucy has never bitten anybody, if she acts aggressive it's usually only by flashing teeth, a little bit of a snarl which neither are anywhere close to intimidating.
I have boondocking experience outside of my local area but if I were to choose one it would be near the Sol Duc Hot Springs in Washington State
I have called Kitsap County in Washington state my home at different stages of my life most recently for the last 8 years. I've lived on the East Coast on four occasions I've lived in other countries and always come back to the northwest. Currently residing in Kingston Washington on the Olympic Peninsula and the Puget Sound. My Journeys will take me across the country to North Carolina where I will be handing the keys over to my RV and traveling south to Orlando to take care of Mom in her later years.
I am traveling in a vintage Toyota Motorhome. It is a 1978 Toyota Mini Mirage. I am traveling from Oregon to North Carolina where I will be dropping off the RV to its new owners, and then continuing on to Orlando to move-in with my ageing mother. I am traveling with my best co-pilot a 15lb Rat terrier mix named Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds...(Lucy for short) she has been my ESA and Service Animal for 8 years and I wouldn't ever want to be anywhere without her. I am 46yrs old, very well traveled and versed in many skills. I plan on being in Orlando to take car of my mother in her older years. My rig has a Scooter attached to it that I take off to be mobile around the areas I stay if for a few days. My motorhome is most comfortable with a 110 hookup for power and a water hose hookup but if only for one night neither are necessary. I will be taking most of June to get me across the country, being an older vehicle I want to make sure I take my time in traveling.
Guest introduced himself to folks around town and seemed to enjoy himself. Had a cute little Toyota motor home from a bygone era. Was quite appreciative of the boondock site.
Poetkirk is a full timer, heading south with Lucy his well behaved dog. Communicated well, full of information, well rounded, independent, lover not a fighter, grill master, giver not taker, overall kind man; we enjoyed meeting and chatting with him. Left our property as he found it, tidy, we would welcome him back anytime!
Poetkirk communicated well, utilized water and electric. Cool older rig, full timer living the life. Lucy (the dog) was very well behaved, went hiking and even got a bath afterwards. Shared stories of their cross country adventures and we enjoyed eating together with other RV guests. Grateful to meet them and hope our paths cross again. BW has opened our eyes to the wonderful world of RVers, thankful to be a Host!
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting poetkirk and his traveling companion.. Loved seeing his vintage RV and hearing of his travels. . It was a last minute request as they traveled across country.. We were happy to be able to accommodate them. Enjoyed talking about the Northeast with which we had some commonalties. We wish them safe travels to their final destination and would be honored to host them again.
We would welcome Poetkirk back anytime, wish we could have him see our toy camper.
We hope he has safe travels and gets down to take care of his mom.
Poetkirk had some vehicle issues as it is an older RV, but he communicated well on arrival times and what was going on with the vehicle, as well as what it took to get (easily) fixed. Hopefully he can make the vehicle to N. Carolina for delivery. Slow and steady in hot weather.
i only got to visit on the phone, but he is welcome to come back anytime !
