In 1973 after working a year at post-college jobs my wife and I bought an early version of a Class B RV which was relatively basic by today's standards. With teaching jobs that gave us the summers off we traversed the country several times before settling down to raise our family. Recently retired, we are recreating the experience.
In general we are drawn to beaches and mountains. Since we like to use all the available daylight to enjoy the scenery and activities, we often don't want to settle down for the evening until after dark. In these cases we don't really need a campsite, preferring to find a local restaurant for dinner and a convenient boondocking location to park. Occasionally we like to travel to cities to attend concerts, looking for a nearby place to park.
In May 2014 we purchased a lightly used 2011 Roadtrek Agile, a 19-foot Class B on the Mercedes Sprinter platform.
