My wife and I both recently retired and our target is to spend a year traveling the U.S. before we decide what's next for us. We have only a couple specific destinations planned and are playing everything else on a day-to-day basis. We like the driving part of this lifestyle and seeing the vast amounts of interesting scenery, wildlife and "humanlife." We're early-on in this adventure but have already met many interesting and kind people.
We're ok in the kitchen and enjoy and prefer making most of our meals at home. I'm a decent general mechanic/maintenance guy and enjoy physical activity (the latter is commonly known as "labor" or as my parents called it while growing up working on the farm "enjoying the great outdoors.")
We're new but so far our best boondocking has been at a friend's property on Flat Top Mountain outside of Chattanooga, TN.
Until our recent retirement we lived in McKinney, TX. We sold our home and now call Livingston, Texas home.
2016 Forest River Salem Hemisphere 282RK 31-foot travel trailer. TV is a 2015 F250. I always carry my motorcycle (Kawasaki KLR 650) in the back of the pickup in case there are neat areas to explore.
