We became full-timers in May 2018. Thank you to all who stayed with us and enhanced our lives.
Jim retired from the Coast Guard and continued his professional life in network engineering as both a telecom manager, consultant, and Professor. He loves model trains (and is a SPF), sailing, good food, traveling, single malts, and a lively discussion.
Linda retired from education and continued her professional life as a project management consultant in high tech. She quilts, knits, read a voracious amount, enjoys learning how geography impacts cultures and the people of an area.
Between the two melded families they have 11 grandkiddos, who fortunately like to camp with them.
They travel with their sassy cat in their fifth wheel.
Jim is a model railroader and HAM radio operator. I am a reader, quilter, knitter and like to dabble in the vege garden.
We have a tabby kitty who stays inside the RV.
Favorite boondocking location is Medicine Lodge Wyoming!
Roseburg is about 22,000 good souls, with a small town friendliness. Great vineyards and two beautiful rivers run through the Umpqua Basin. Famous (maybe the best in the world) fly fishing close by, good bike rides, nice parks.
2015 Arctic Fox 29.5 fifth wheel with two slide-outs. It is fully self contained but having shore power and water would be appreciated but not mandatory.
It was a pleasure to meet Linda and Jim. We hope they enjoy their extended stay on our island.
Happy trails!
Linda & Jim were our guests for a few nights. We would welcome them back anytime. They were kind, curteous, interesting and we miss them already. Their fifth wheel was self contained so they only needed a 50 amp hook up. We enjoyed their company and the company of their well behaved pets. Hopefully you'll get a chance to meet this great couple.
Great people...great conversation..not to meantion the exquisite VIEW . Great advice since a storm was comming in! Thank you.
From the time they led eeus from town to their home overlooking the valley below to the visit the night before we left we had a wonderful time. They were great hosts and we would love to see them at our house in the future
Please visit this wonderful couple! Extremely hospitable, made us feel comfortable and offered a ton of invaluable advice for my wife and I, looking forward to keeping in touch. They live in a very charming pocket of wine country that is great to visit, we just had a great time. Thanks again!
We felt like a part of the family when we got offered a glass of wine and some dinner on arrival! Such a lovely couple and so nice to talk to. Lindaclary also made electricity available for us. The view is breathtaking and the surroundings just stunning!
Thanks for the great time.
We enjoyed our visit with Linda and Jim. The nearby countryside is beautiful. Their commanding view of it is amazing. It was a pleasure to chat and get acquainted. I look forward to keeping in touch and hearing more about their upcoming adventures.
I had the pleasure of visiting with lindaclary on my way north along I-5. I received beautiful directions to the house. Close enough to be easy access from the freeway, and yet far enough that it was a peaceful country setting! Plenty of room in the driveway, and they provided a great parking spot. They welcomed me and my dogs. Very experienced dog people, that understood the needs of the rescue that I had just picked up and was bringing home.
They were wonderful to chat with, and gave me so much good info from their RV experiences.
I am looking forward to being able to stay here for another visit in the future!
We stayed at Linda and Jim's home on our way to Washington, and feel lucky to have met such a nice couple. We were greeted with an offer of hot tea, an electrical cord for electricity to our rig, and a gorgeous view and home. This was followed with enjoyable conversation as we sat in the kitchen enjoying our tea.
I contacted Linda with a message through the website, and received a phone call within 10 minutes. It was a last minute decision because our plans were made as we traveled, due to weather advisories. Luckily Linda responded quickly!
We will definitely stop here again, and appreciated the hospitality!
If I could award them from one to five stars, I'd have to give them six.
I bought Linda & Jim's previous trailer and they invited me to stay while I got familiar with it. We had some great times and I look forward to seeing them when they pass through Texas. If I'm ever up that way again, they'll be a "must stop".
You can't find nicer people, more fun, or a better view.
Pay serious attention to their cautions about the hill and dirt road. They are not kidding. They have an incredible view because they live near the top of the "hill". Having said that, they're only 15 minutes off I-5. If your trailer can make it up there, you owe it to yourself to stop by.
Take them a bottle of wine and tell them Rich sent you!
