My wife and I are both retired from civil employment having served the public for over 30 years each. We dreamed of going on the road in our RV and now are able to do so. Avid outdoors lovers we enjoy fishing, snow and water skiing, boating, hunting and just about any activity involved in the outdoors. We have been camp hosts and are very friendly and easy going individuals.
We enjoy meeting new friends on our journeys.
Carpentry, plumbing, computer literate, account management, animal training, reception skills, party-planning.
We have two American Brittanys. Both dogs are service qualified.
Anywhere the road takes us.

Nick and Jeanne spent a couple of rainy days with us. In spite of the weather they were able to do some sight seeing in the San Antonio area. Nick did get their rig stuck in our front pasture but nothing that an hour of digging and a big tractor couldn't fix. Well behaved pets: got along with our dogs very well. Nick and Jeanne were easy to talk with and have some good camp host stories. We enjoyed having them visit.
Beautiful spot, we arrived just at dusk so we were awarded with an awesome sunset. Very quiet and peaceful very restful night. Make sure you follow Host instructions on getting to his location otherwise you'll wander around a bit follow GPS, most beautiful wrong turns ever.

We had a fantastic stay at Highest of High. The parking area is convenient, flat and has a wonderful deck next to it - a perfect place to enjoy meals and/or an after dinner beverage. The surrounding scenery is gorgeous and it’s very peaceful. A very relaxing place to spend the night. Thanks!
Our experience at Highest of High was just what we were hoping for! Everytime I contacted the host, I received a quick reply. Although we did not meet our hosts, we are very happy with the way he communicated, our sight was absolutely beautiful, and the deck was a very special touch.
Gorgeous views within an easy walk, somewhat isolated (which is what we were hoping for), and a very positive experience!
Would definitely return when we're back in the area.
Thank you to our hosts, for an excellent visit!
This place is as peaceful as anyplace we have stayed. Great stay.
We were pleased and happy to have had three days at the hosts‘s location. We drive a PROMASTER but the site is designed for bigger rigs. We rate this experience and location AWESOME! It is very high up well maintained mountain roads. We can only give the highest compliments on the facility for visiting with your vehicle.
It is wonderful to have a host site where you are free to come and go and explore such a great area as the mountains around Cripple Creek. The parking spot was designed for our hosts own beautiful large RV. Parking is easy following the hosts written advice. You will sleep well in the cool mountain air at 9,150 feet high. The hiking is great in the area. The excitement of historic Cripple Creek and its still running narrow gauge RR is great. But its many modern casino facilities are frosting on the cake. (Note: we did not need to use the hosts available electric connection but its there for those that do. We found it easy to dispose of small bags of of trash next to the city restrooms by the train station.) We socially tele-communicated with our hosts several times and found them as fabulous and gracious as their site. It is wonderful to find such generous good Samaritans when traveling far from home.
This is a wonderful location. Electricity worked perfect. Very quiet only saw and heard a couple of people during our stay and only for a second or two as they were just driving by to their homes. The deck is fantastic and a great place to sit and relax. Parking spot is gravel and very level. In fact I didn’t need to do any leveling with my trailer at all. Made a trip into Cripple Creek for a day and rode the train had lunch at Ralfs Break Room and drove up to Victor. Town could use some help as there are a lot of empty spaces, but it is interesting. I have been to the jail museum and the main museum before and can say they are great. There are a few places you can dump at if you need to after your stay. One in town and another called Lost Burro. We chose lost burro and it’s a very run down campground and wouldn’t recommend as the road is very rough. This is a great escape and a wonderful spot and I highly recommend.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Highest of High - they have a lovely deck that juts out into the woods/over the hillside, just above their daughter's home. When you look out your windows, you feel like you are up in a tree house. The neighborhood is very quiet, and we had some good exercise walking up the hills in the development.
Notes for other guests: We had originally chosen this spot for its proximity to Florisant Fossil Beds Nat'l Monument, but ended up also stumbling into Cripple Creek, an old mining town full of casinos, restaurants, etc. Enjoyed the museum there and the narrow gauge train ride. We also made the drive in to Colorado Springs one day for some shopping and to tour Garden of the Gods. So much to do in this area.
Thanks again, Nick, and daughter Connie. It is very kind of you to share this lovely spot.
Nice and quiet neighborhood in the mountains. Parking is right on the side of the road, but it is a very rarely used road as there is only one other home owner that lives past this spot. Go down to the cul-de-sac for an awesome view of the mountains and watch the sunset. We loved sitting on the deck watching the aspen leaves twinkle in the cool mountain breeze.
Although we did not meet the host, their spot was perfect. They built a spot specifically for boondockers. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you for making this place available.
This is the perfect spot if you love beauty and quiet. We loved having a deck to enjoy in the evening. Thank you!
We slept so well every night during our stay! We saw so much wildlife right out our windows! Love the set up provided and the roads in are easy to travel and well maintained! Great place to stay! Lots to do in the area.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Highest of High! The deck and power hookups were much appreciated. We also enjoyed getting our exercise walking the neighborhood roads! Thank you!
Can't speak highly enough about our experience at Highest of High. Our furnace went down before a two-day snow storm and pipes froze midway through. Their grandson trekked up the snowy hill to deliver us a jug of water and make sure our power was on. They also let us stay an extra day til the roads cleared up and our pipes thawed out.
Besides our tribulations, we still had time to hike by some historic gold mines and take in majestic views.
I wish there was a much happier face to check at the top of the page. Our hosts were more than just accommodating. Our hosts made sure they we had everything we needed. They were helpful in giving us direction regarding what to see and do in the local area. We found that we had some amazing connections and coincidences during our friendly conversations. The site for our camper was perfect and the amazing views of the mountains and Pike's Peak from almost 10,000 feet made our stay very enjoyable and memorable. Thank you so much and hope to see you again.
What a lovely stay. Our kind hosts, while busy with projects of their own, made us welcome and comfortable. They replenished us with delicious drinking water and made time for our grandchildren (who really hit it off) to enjoy some play time together, while we adults could get better acquainted.
To our kind hosts... Thanks again. We appreciate you more than you know. Hope we can get together when you’re next in Arizona.
Nick and Jeannie were my first boondockerswelcome.com experience and it couldn't have gone better. From reservation to arrival and departure, they were perfect hosts. They made me and my dog, Mika, feel very welcome and were great neighbors for three days. I will definitely come back through some day!
