Cindy and David decided to sell nearly everything and travel the US full-time. We left our home in Austin, TX with renters and piled into a 27' Lance travel trailer for our travel adventure: TrippingTheUS. We left in January 2021 and won't return home until December 2021.
Our general plan is to travel the outline of the US counter clockwise: Florida by February, Maine by June, Pacific North West by September, and back to Texas by December. We tend to move at least once a week, and sometimes for just a night or two.
We enjoy hiking, campfire chats, seeing this beautiful country of ours, and getting to meet many amazing people along the way. Our travel companion is Winston, our faithful 14 year old rescue dog.
Cindy is working from the road on our adventure. She was the president of our neighborhood park association for 5 years and managed to not let any neighbors kill each other. She's an Excel goddess, can fix nearly anything in a house, and is a wonderful cook. She's also generally the most interesting person in the room to talk with.
David is a temporarily retired banker with financial and investment experience. He also recently installed solar panels, lithium batteries, and an inverter system in the Lance trailer will be happy to answer questions or show-n-tell the system if you want.
We have one dog, Winston. He's a 14 year old pound puppy (beagle something mix?) who loves traveling, taking hikes, and sleeping... lots and lots of sleeping.
So far we've only boondocked in Utah (outside the National Parks), Arizona (near the Grand Canyon), and Louisiana (middle of a bayou). Love places with beautiful views or friendly people.
Our rig is a 2021 Lance 2285 travel trailer (27' from coupler to bumper) with one slide out. She's towed by a 2020 F-250 Super Duty SRW short bed.
We completely enjoyed hosting David+Cindy at our BW site! They were friendly, easy-going, and great communicators! They graciously contributed to our "Travel Suggestions" book; and we will look forward to visiting and exploring their hometown someday! Please do not hesitate to host this lovely couple and their well-behaved pup! We wish them all the very best in the months ahead as they continue making memories!
They arrived on time and were very happy to be able to have a safe and secure place to park for a night without being in another parking lot. We were glad to accommodate them and wish them safe travels in New England.
Had fun chatting about their travels and their long journey. Met their cute doggie. Super easy to host. Glad to have them back anytime.
Winston and his people where the ideal guests to have hosted. They provided an ETA arriving when expected and had no issues getting settled in for the night. We enjoyed the conversations and sharing of experiences. Quiet and respectful of the property, they would be welcome back at anytime. Stay healthy and safe travels my friends!
great guests . very friendly and kind. wish they could have stayed longer.
I hosted David+Cindy for 3 nights. Their fist couple nights were cold and wer. Their 3rd day I got to meet them and found them to be friendly and easy to chat with. David offered to help if I needed help. We did split up some wood for future Boondockerswelcome guests. They were vary appreciative of their host and the amenities offered. They are very welcome to return anytime they may wish to do so.
