I am a native Californian, and have lived in California for most of my life - though I did have the opportunity to spend a couple of years on the east coast, and three years in Oregon. The city of Santa Rosa, in beautiful Sonoma County has been my home for the past 25 years.
I retired from the forest products industry in 2016 after 33 years of buying and selling lumber. I am married and have 8 grown children, 15 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons. I enjoy family activities, weightlifting, playing pickleball, doing volunteer work, reading and listening to audio books, and taking trips with our 17' travel trailer. One of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences I have had in retirement thus far, has been taking a month long trip with our trailer from California to Florida and back with my wife and 93 year-old father... what an adventure! I am looking forward to exploring new and interesting places, and making new acquaintances as I utilize this fantastic boondocking website - I have found that there is something valuable I can learn from everyone I meet.
I am knowledgeable about lumber grades and uses, and have a flair for art and photography... and my wife is very crafty - she loves to crochet, knit, and make pottery and jewelry among other things.
I like animals of all kinds, and have owned dogs, cats, birds, and horses in the past -- but don’t presently have any pets. I enjoy the freedom of traveling and not having to make arrangements for pet care.
