Michele grew up as a military brat moving 12 times in the first 18 years of her life. In fact Spanish was her first language as her mother was Costa Rican and her father was stationed in Bolivia for two years while she was three to five years old. Dave is a fifth generation Texan whos first cousin three times removed was John Wesley Hardin the infamous old west gun slinger. In fact his great grandfather rode with him in his gang for a time during reconstruction Texas. He spent his first 20 years after college in the wireless communications industry. Initially in the pager business then as a owner of a pager, cell phone and satellite TV business.

We are still working life and health insurance brokers. With Covid changing the rules, we decided to take our show mobile since we can do everything remotely and see the country at the same time. We have found that most everyone we meet is confused about how health insurance works and particularly how Medicare works. It's hard to describe how good it feels to really help people understand their options and get them in a plan that really works for them.

Most recently we've added an under 65 healthcare plan option to our line of business. It's a perfect fit for full time RVer's since it is a PPO (benefits in and out of network nationwide), and it's WAY less expensive than Obama Care for people that purchase their own healthcare plan if they don't qualify for the subsidies.

Skills & Expertise to Share

Prior to our insurance career Michele was an incredible full charge bookkeeper. To this day numbers just speak to her. Dave knows his way around the kitchen and has been known to smoke a pretty mean pork butt or brisket from time to time.

Super Guest

RetiredHobo is brand new to Boondockers Welcome, and it was an absolute delight to host this couple. D & M are the kind of people that you instantly become friends with knowing this is not going to be a one off encounter.

D & M were excellent at keeping us posted on their ETA. Upon their arrival we instantly bonded. Later we sat around and chatted about the places that they had been and the places they were going. They were extremely respectful of our property and we hardly knew they were there unless we looked out the back window.

Our pray and hope is that our paths will cross again many times on the highways and byways out there. Any BW member would be lucky to have the opportunity to host these find folks. D & M exemplify what Boondockers Welcome is all about.,

Best of luck to them in their adventures.
