We arrived late, after our host departed, but everything was ready. Turns out we were heading south and the road/exit to their route was blocked by a rockslide. So we had to get off 10 miles further east and double back.
The trailhead next door is pretty neat. Even if you don’t walk it, read the signs on the history of the railroad that ran there. The caboose is neat too!
This location is off the beaten trail a bit but our stay was nice and we got a good rest. Easy in and out too! Check it out!
....to stay if you like biking, hiking or just a quiet place to spend the night.
Location, location and a nice host too. This BDW's parking is right on a beautiful bike trail. We rode it the afternoon of arrival and again in the morning before we hit the road.
Our host was great, giving us a tour of his shop and having some interesting discussions about horses, Ireland and other things.
It was good being able to plug in for the night, but we needed every bit of our 100' cord.
we highly recommend this location.
This is a quiet spot close right next to a rail trail for biking. Host is great at communicating.
Easy to find and convenient access. We enjoyed meeting and hope to have the chance to meet again in the near future. Next time we go through Central Virginia, we will stop here!
