I grew up on Long Island in NY and lived in New Jersey for 25 years before I moved to Winnebago IL in 1999. I have been running the family business since 1986 and am looking forward to easing out of this over the next year.
I am a volunteer puppy raiser with Canine Companions for Independence and am currently raising my 13th pup.
I drove a 40 ft Dutch Star for 8 years, but finally could no longer afford to keep it. I am planning on getting an RV again (a little smaller) once I have enough time to truly enjoy it. I want to travel around promoting puppy raising for Canine Companions while I enjoy the trip.
My skills are in puppy/dog training. I am a good communicator, both listening and sharing.
No rig right now.
We can highly recommend this host. The location is very rural on a small farm. Our host made us feel very welcome and accommodating. Thank you so much for a great visit.
We arrived well after dark but it was no problem. The owner was accommodating with our uncertain schedule. It was worth the detour off the interstate to this quaint little farmstead. Easy parking and nice to have power for the night. Will definitely stop here again.
We stayed at this farm on October 5th and 6th. It was very quiet, secluded, and beautiful. If you are under 12' you can have covered parking. Very pleasant host. We had a great chat regarding RVing and other topics. We look forward to meeting again. Would definitely stay here again.
I contacted Sammie's Farm to see if my wife and I and another couple camping with us could stay one night while traveling to northern Wisconsin. I got a very quick response stating that there was space and we could count on staying there. On the way, a medical issue came up and we had to alter our plans... We never made it to Sammie's Farm. We wrote to advise what was happening and again received a very prompt reply! Although we never made it there, we were very pleased with the minimal time it took to get a reply. Hopefully we will be able to return the offer of a place to stay someday!
We spent two nights on Sammie's Farm and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Our host was wonderful and even provided us electric hookup so we could run the AC. There was also a fenced-in yard for our dog to run around in.
Our family really enjoyed staying at the farm. There was a lot of space for our kids to run around and play. We saw gorgeous sunsets with fireflies flickering in the corn fields. Our rig was sheltered from the sun and rain in covered parking. Learning about training companion dogs was fascinating and our host was fun to talk to and very accommodating. We were happy to make a new friend this week. :)
