Both raised in Northern MI. Moved to Texas in 1997 and call Texas home state. Started full timing in 2013 with the idea we were going to travel as much as possible and in five years reevaluate what was next in life's great adventure. We are pretty sure at this point that what ever our next plan will be it will not include upsizing. :-)

A little bit about how we got here. Sold our home in 2004 and started a major life style change by downsizing and working towards a lifestyle of learning to live lean. By definition we don't qualify as Minimalist's however we are finding freedom and happiness we never expected in just letting go of all the stuff. From 2004 to 2013 we worked to reduce our belongings to the point where all our "STUFF" fit in a 35ft Dutchmen Rubicon 2900 travel trailer, toy hauler and hit the road in February of 2013.
Darlene retired as home maker in Oct of 2017. Larry joined the retirement folks Jun 30th of 2017 and has been enjoying the summer off.

Larry's employment involved online computer services and he had been working remotely via internet prior to 2004. His employment allowed and encouraged remote tel-working so where ever there's decent internet access work is just a quick connection away.

Our Dutchmen Toy-hauler garage provided the office necessary for full time work and Larry is in the process of converting the space to more useful retired kind of activities.
Most of our traveling has been visiting our children and grandchildren whom are spread through out the Eastern central part of the US, from Northern Mi to Texas.
We have met a lot of really nice people in our travels and look forward to meeting new friends. We plan to due some upgrades on our rig so we can look into more extended boon docking stay's off grid.

Hobbies are Larry computers, motorcycles, electronics and applying some of those skills to modding the trailer and truck.
Darlene is an avid Knitter and just about every other skill you can imagine with needles and hooks tread and yarn and loves to share her skill with others.

We currently do not have any pets. We've been a pet family all our lives between dogs and cats. Figured it was time to be free of the responsibility of pets at least for the time being. Our last pet was a 35 pound Maine Coon

Favorite Boondocking Locations

Don't have any yet. :-)

Really nice guests!

We met this couple at Escapade in 2016 and again at RVillage Rally One. When they indicated that they would be traveling through Michigan during summer 2018, we made sure they knew about our host site. So glad they stopped. It was a wonderful visit with a lot of great conversation.
