I love to travel and experience different places, cultures and cuisines. I call my little A-Frame rig The Granny Wagon. I usually travel solo, but hubby, Robert, or daughter, Daisy, will sometimes come along with me. Robert is from the Australian outback. I am from the Appalachian foothills of Alabama. I am an Army vet who used the GI Bill to get an education and embark on a career in academic research administration. Throughout my career, I have lived in several states and have travelled to over thirty countries. I am rapidly approaching retirement (early 2022) when I hope to take several long trips to visit friends I have made over the years, see some sites, and make some new friends. I am a friendly introvert who is content to visit or enjoy my own company with a good book or sewing project.
I sew, cook, can, teach, and am a published author.
Although we do have two small dogs, they typically stay home with Robert and the chickens when I travel.
Anywhere with a water view!
We live in the countryside in Central Florida. We are in a rural setting that has amenities very near by. We are about 45 minutes from either the theme parks to the west and the Space Coast to the east. UCF is only 15 minutes away.

I got my RV hooked up and was enjoying this stay when a family emergency came up. In the short time I was here, I can say it was enjoyable and a trip back is planned for the future. The hosts were wonderful and inviting.
Host was very friendly and welcoming. She even gave me the freshest eggs I ever had. I highly recommend her especially for solo travelers.
Flagler Retreat was indeed a wonderful retreat offering beauty, nature's grace, and privacy all within the kind protection and hospitality of this loving family. I enjoyed the garden tours, kindred camper chats, and hiking/biking on the Flagler rail-trail. I will definitely return when back in FL and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet oasis of calm and beauty. The location is easy set up on a paved driveway, and in one of the prettiest residential neighborhoods I've visited. Feeling refreshed!
Robert was a great host! He showed us around his chickens, fruit trees and garden. We went to Merritt Island Natl Wildlife Refuge for a day of exploring. Nearby there was also the Trail and Lake Mills Park. We enjoyed the stay and appreciated Robert’s hospitality!
What a wonderful place to stay! Welcoming and gracious hosts. Beautiful backyard with fruit tress and bushes. Will definitely return to hike Flagler trail.
Really enjoyed visiting with our hosts. Love their property, garden and close proximity to the Flagler Trail! Hiked 7 miles in all and saw several good size gators. Thanks again for such a great stay.
Ms JennyFaye was a delightful and very welcoming host. Enjoyed our stay very much. :-) Liked our walk through your food forest and very much enjoyed the eggs. Thank you so much. Hoping to visit again sometime.
A beautiful place nestled in the woods with a perfect spot to rest. I was greeted with a basket of fresh eggs and a friendly tour of the property. Truly a wonderful world we live in with people and places like this.
