She's a registered nurse manager, looking forward to an early retirement. He's a classical musician, playing the viola and violin looking forward to life in general. We live in a gorgeous little town by the Puget Sound and like to visit other gorgeous places. We are former backpackers, so we avoid RV parks whenever possible, and when traveling without our trailer love to stay at B&Bs or other non-traditional places.
We have a tiny 1959 Shasta Compact that we restored about 6 years ago. His name is "Hamlet" because he's too small to be a full "canned ham." He turns heads everywhere he goes. Oh yes, did we mention that we anthropomorphize our trailer?
When weather permits, we enjoy taking our tandem out to one of the less inhabited islands and biking for an afternoon. When it doesn't, we take our 12 year old Icelandic Sheepdog, Nisse, on a walk to the beach or the park. She loves to cook, he loves to eat, and we both love our chickens.
Anywhere on a road trip.
Steilacoom, Washington. The oldest incorporated town in the state.
"Hamlet" is a beautifully restored 1959 Shasta Compact. He's 10 feet long and has a stove and oven, icebox, shower/potty room and sleeps two adults and two small children.
These folks are welcome again any time. I got a tour of the wonderful job they've done on their vintage trailer. Very impressive. Quiet and friendly folks with a beautiful and well behaved dog.
