Active couple that travels to & from across country and between Baja, Mexico and British Columbia with skis, snowboards, surfboards, SUP, kiteboards. Sounds exhausting really but feel very fortunate to be retired and still able to participate in activities which have been the culture I've identified with mostly.
Pretty handy with boats which translates to RV'S. Love to "putter" with projects in my shop. Not afraid to attempt to fix most mechanical items & know enough when I shouldn't. Not offering any repair work though, have too many projects already.
Not right now because we travel so much but are fine with well mannered, well even frisky ones, as long as the owners clean up after them. No barking or chasing neighbors cats which sometimes wander over
Baja, Mexico. West Texas, in the mountains when its above freezing temperatures.
Have 2020 Ford F150 with truck camper on bed. Pulling small single axle 8 foot box cargo trailer. Can disconnect trailer if it creates a problem.
Great visitors, we have a lot in common. It was a pleasure to have them. Hopefully they will return one day.
Was a great experience for our first Boondockers welcome. If we are in the area we will be back again.
We spent a nice, quiet evening at Back 40 and would definitely recommend. Easy to find, but make sure to follow the directions given. We had a nice chat with our host as we happened to arrive at that same time they got home. There was another Boondocker there but there's plenty of space to spread out. Would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed our stay at MidcoastMaine. We were able to briefly meet with our host before we went out and enjoyed a hike and area attractions. The location was perfect and it was very level for our van. We wish we had more time!
We had a large, level, shaded, quiet site. The owner let us have some friends who were in the area over to visit. Highly recommend.
These folks graciously hosted us even though they were busy with family and friends. We unfortunately didn't get to meet them personally, but we did speak on the phone, getting plenty of information on where to park, and where to get hooked up to electricity. The back yard is a large, green field; with plenty of room to pull in and turn around to park. It was a very peaceful stay for us... we very much appreciated their hospitality!
Also, the nearby town of Camden was picturesque; we rode our motorcycle into town (maybe a mile), parked by the harbor and enjoyed a local brew.
Great boondocker location!
We appreciated staying in such a convenient, private and quiet location. Hosts were very welcoming despite being busy with their Camden Cup weekend activities. We had an issue with damaging our bike rack and the host made his tools and workshop available for me to make necessary repairs. Very convenient to Camden’s waterfront. A great stop.
This is one of my top Boondocking locations! The hosts were gracious and I enjoyed all of out conversations. The field was perfect, I easily found a level spot and electric was provided. There are wildflowers and butterflies all around and it is so peaceful for relaxing and sleeping. It was such a comfortable stay. It is folks like these hosts that make my journey so joyful. So grateful they accepted my request and I look forward to a return visit.
Arrived mid afternoon to a warm welcome. I guess our RV was the biggest they had accommodated before, but with a little maneuvering we did just fine with the help of George. Very warm welcome and a beautiful spot and location. George got us hooked up with water which we gratefully paid $5. Very peaceful and we arrived early enough to get in a lovely bike ride. Would highly recommend! Thanks!
We stayed 2 nights. Easy in and out. Peaceful and nice area to stay.
We love his spot, it’s a mile bike into town and he was very gracious. Would 100% recommend and if we make it out this way again hope to get a bike ride or paddle board in with him.
Wow. We parked in a beautiful field inhabited by unemployed sailboats and a garden, had dinner and took a lovely night saunter from there into and around the village. George of the Oasis seems a laid back and generous sort. We slept like babes… very grateful.
G and his wife we're very nice… I rode by the spot earlier in the day to check out the situation and spoke with G by phone… We took our rig into town and found a parking space and went into Camden maine to explore and have dinner.. we got back to the spot around 8 PM and met G who was having friends over at the time but spent a couple of minutes speaking with us… We left in the morning without seeing him as I think him and his wife were out with friends having breakfast… Very nice guy great spot… I looked out my screen door into the field at 7:30 AM and Saw a beautiful Doe grazing and having her breakfast not 30 feet away from our rig.. thank you G for being so nice to us...
Our hosts could not have been more hospitable. They were extremely welcoming and helpful. Their property is absolutely pristine with flowers and a large field and birds chirping. My husband and our host had a tremendous amount in common and I know they would’ve liked to spend more time together. Hopefully we will come back this way at some point. We would love to return.
G was fast to respond and his big field was easy to find, great to stay in. We met G in the morning on the way out and he was super friendly. Overall a perfect stay!
Large grassy field. Very quiet and peaceful. The host was very welcoming.
Great stay with very accommodating host! Gave me some great tips for local spots to check out! Had a great time in this area thanks to this host
Host was very accommodating and we had a quiet nights rest in a pretty, grassy area.
George was a gracious host. Couldn't ask for better. As an added bonus, his property is near Camden one of the coolest unspoiled (maybe a little spoiled) towns on the Maine coast. Five stars!
The parking is in a large field. If you can't get level you're not trying. It abutts wooded land. Watch for ticks, but other than that, it's the best.
Great spot near Camden host was very nice hope to return again soon!
What a really nice place our hosts have. It was easy to find, and exactly as they described. Wonderful quiet little hideaway spot for a peaceful nights sleep. Our hosts were so accommodating and responsive with communication it made our whole experience seamless. Thank you for offering your place on Boondockers Welcome!!
This was a great spot close to both Camden and Rockport but quiet and peaceful! Also within walking distance of a fantastic dog
park and you can also walk to the port. The property had so much space to enjoy and my pup loved it- the hosts were so welcoming and wonderful. They got me all set up and were very accommodating- would definitely recommend this great spot! Thank you !
Loved our quiet stay and visiting Camden. Such a hidden gem. Host was very accommodating and friendly!
Midcoast Maine was a great host! He offered water, hookups, wifi, and a bathroom - loved the hospitality. Can’t beat the location 15 minutes from Rockland and 5 minutes from Camden! Absolutely loved this area, will be back!
Great stay. Located in a field with water and electric nearby. Level spot. Apple trees and garden area ajoining. Did not get to meet our host due to our separate scheduling, but talked on the phone, very warm and inviting. A pleasant stay, we may come again.
While the host wasn't actually there when we arrived, he did provide us with instructions and a phone number to call if we so happen to get lost. We did call the phone number to find out where to park and got settled in. It's a bit of a tight squeeze around the house to the field we parked in so bigger rigs take note
