I'm Pete Marks, from San Antonio, TX. I've been retired since 2008 and since then, I have pulled my 18' Oliver travel trailer about 85,000 miles across this land. In my previous life, I flew across it in jets, props, and helicopters, but now I much prefer a slower pace ... 60 miles an hour with a smile on my face, watching the texture of the land and seeing the rich culture of the people within.
Oscar the Smiley Dog was my wife's companion dog and is now my traveling buddy. He's 12 pounds of quiet happiness and has enjoyed being a hospice therapy dog. Always eager to see new places and smell new smells.
We're usually out on the road 3 to 6 months each year and enjoy the wandering . . . Thanks for offering us a place to stop during our meanderings.
I enjoy the lilting sounds of an Irish whistle as it plays a "Slow Air" and the melody echoes back from nearby hills.
National Parks and other public lands. I've enjoyed Route 66 From Chicago to Santa Monica and learned a lot as I followed the Lewis & Clark travels from St Lewis to the Pacific Ocean.
It's all good . . .
