My husband Mike and I are full-timers who recently found out about boondockers welcome. We wish we had known about it BEFORE we went full-time as we would have been happy to host! We were part of a similar program for many years called "couchsurfing(.org)" where we have hosted travelers in our home from all over the world. Before I met my husband, I lived in Las Vegas and have personally hosted over 350 people (for free) from every continent except Antarctica! Although we were still hosts in Wisconsin, not as many travelers visited our town but the door was still open. Anyway, what I'm getting at was that hosting and meeting all different kinds of people was one of the coolest things I think I've ever done so when we found out about boondockers welcome, it sounded right up our alley!!! Sure, having a cheap/free place to park for a bit is a plus but meeting people and sharing stories while traveling is really what the adventure is about!
We like to say we know a little bit about a lot of things.
We do not currently have pets but we did have three cats before we moved into "haRVey" We would like to travel abroad and it's not really possible with nowhere for the pets to go when we do. With that being said, we LOVE animals so if YOU have pets, we would be more than happy to give them some pets, scratches, and rubs lol
The plan to go full-time has been in the works for about five years but has only recently come to fruition so as experiences happen, as will updates to this section.
Before we went full-time, we called Appleton, Wisconsin home. It's a music town and over the past couple years it has almost become like a miniature Nashville. We loved it there but the desire to see the world overtook the desire to homestead. Now, as they say, home is where we park it.
32ft Winnebago Brave class A. No slides. We are towing a smallish Ford Focus with a tow dolly.
Ponyfloat are very considerate guests. It was nice meeting you both. You are welcome back anytime.
These two are a very enjoyable couple who are living the life most of us would have liked to live at their age. Hope they can keep it up for as long as they want. We would host them again without any hesitation!
I raise goats for pets and humans need to imprint on them at or near birth for them to be tame and approachable as they get older.
Ponyfloats took care of that in spades. Bet I have the friendliest babies south of the Mason-Dixon Line! I am expecting them back for my next batch.
Had a brief visit with them this morning.very pleasant couple would be please to have them back anytime.
