We’ve been married 43 years with two grown daughters who are now married with kids. Gerry is a semi-retired truck driver and Dottie is recently retired from being a para-pro and reading interventionist at an elementary school. We plan on traveling in winter and enjoying our pool, bike paths, and proximity to Lake Michigan at home in the summer.
Gerry knows the best small town restaurants and backroads around the country. He can do some mechanical work.
Just starting out!
2005 Beaver 40’ class A diesel pusher with 4 slideouts. We will be towing our GMC Acadia.
You had a short visit of two nights. But they were fantastic and great to talk with. Have safe travels and come back soon!
It was a pleasure to host G&D. Got a tour of their beautiful motor home .Great guests; we hope to stay at their location when we do our summer tour.
Passing through the area on their travels. Was held up in traffic/weather, but kept us informed of their arrival. Gave us a quick tour of their rig. Wishing them the best on their trip, and look forward to visiting them at their own host location. Welcome back anytime.
We had a great time, they certainly know how to host. You will get a nice review of places to see, great chats under the stars and an opportunity to make new friends. We enjoyed our stay! Thanks
G & D were very generous and welcoming! Their property is beautiful and we had a quiet, relaxing night. Thank you for hosting us!
We enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed and more. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. You can go wrong staying here. Simply the best!
Maiden voyage in our Geo Pro. G and D were so welcoming. Great couple to have drinks by the pool with. Very easy access to lake Michigan, beaches and downtown Holland. Miles and miles of shaded bike trails. Highly recommend you stay with them.
G&D were great hosts, going out of their way to not only give us local information but also allowing us to join them on the pool patio and showing us their musical instrument collection and other items. They have a gorgeous lot and the electric hookup really helped out with the unseasonable weather . Just a wonderful stay overall!
AMAZING Hosts. There are not enough words to describe the fantastic time we had with these hosts. Thanks for everything and thanks for hosting us. We will definitely see you again soon.
This place was so top notch that I really need to be descriptive about all of its wonderful qualities.
Firstly, the location. It’s about 15 mins to downtown quaint Holland. There are so many things to do and see in Holland that I wish I had planned a longer stay. From the Windmill Gardens, shopping downtown, the Boardwalk, numerous Blueberry Picking Farms, (check out http://skamphuisblueberries.com/) to strolling on the beach and even a day trip to Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Grand Haven. Location is on point!
Second, the host’ property. You are backed up to the garage with gorgeous enchanted woods on one side and a spa like pool setting with a fire pit on the other. 50amps and water topped off the deal. Very private, safe and the neighborhood is gorgeous. Parking is very level, no issues. Internet and phone service worked just fine.
Third and most important, our hosts. We felt like we’ve known them forever. Just about as normal, down to earth and kind as you can get. So easy to chat with (which we did over cocktails by the fire) and I swear we could have talked all night. Respectful, charming and funny.
I would go back to this part of the country just to hang with them again.
Thank you sooooo much for hosting us and treating us like family.
Very accommodating and the power option was appreciated. It was quite warm and humid when we were there, so the AC was nice.
You can not find finer people than your hosts at Woods & Waves. G & D were so welcoming that I felt like I was part of the family. We talked and laughed for hours. Their property is filled with mature beautiful trees and is the perfect place to park and enjoy all nature and the area have to offer. These are fun-loving down-to-earth people that you'll want to visit again and again. I didn't want to leave. Thank you for your kind and generous hospitality!
We had an amazing time here in Holland! Our hosts were super friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed having happy hour in the garage together and hanging out by the pool. The site is very spacious and they were kind enough to let us use a water fill up and plug in our power. The area of Holland is beautiful, with so many fun things to do. We had a great time and would definitely come back and stay again.
This was our first stay with a Boondockers host and we could not be more pleased. The hosts were welcoming and made us feel right at home. We spent most of the evening talking and laughing together on their patio. The parking area was level and the setting is beautiful. Lots of shade under the mature oaks. We went for a bike ride to Tunnel park. The trail is conveniently located, just a couple blocks away. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are going to try and return on future trips.
We were welcomed by the hosts with a beer and we went to a restaurant to get chicken wings.
What a great way to meet each other!
The place is in a quiet, nice neighborhood. The place it self is beautiful. The next morning we were invited for coffee on the deck.
The area has many interesting places to go to, like lake Michigan, windmill gardens, downtown Holland and more. Holland has a nice history about the Dutch settlement.
We enjoyed staying at the hosts so much, we extended our stay with a couple of days!
We had the pleasure to meet their friends at the American legion and their (grand) children at the pool.
This was the best stay ever and we made some new friends. We would certainly love to come back here in the near future.
Excellent location in Holland, Michigan. Friendly BW host couple, guided us (5th wheel, 35’) to back down their driveway to site. Helpful at recommending local things to do, we wanted to stay longer but had plans. We were their 2nd guests, and ironically we had hosted their 1st guests at our Shalamar Farm. Small world! Highly recommend for Holland destination, would suggest posting more pictures of parking site.
We are so happy to have met these fine folks in Western Michigan, lovely home and easy parking for our 22 footer! Thank you so much for treating us like family during our short visit. We had so much fun touring the local sites and watching the sun set over Lake Michigan.
