Born in the 50’s, traveled the country in the 60’s on my thumb and pity the young folk now who will never know what real freedom is. Nevertheless, Boondocking is as close as one can get to that era and we offer Ammon Creek Farm as a place for the weary traveler to exit the Matrix for a moment and enjoy the bounties of nature and peace.
Oh, about me? I’m an electrical engineer by trade, a programmer, a musician, an entrepreneur, married, have a pilots license, am an avid Kiteboarder, and enjoy sharing life with people. My wife is the mother of our 4 kids (now adults) and does a good job managing the farm.
Programming in Assembler, operating heavy equipment (such as Skid Steer, Excavator, Farm Tractor), Flying drones,
Juggling, guitar strumming, assembling surface mount electronics, Flying ultralight aircraft ( as well as bigger stuff), Skydiver class A license, golf hacker, survival skills, solar power, perimeter surveillance techniques, construction techniques related to barns, Log homes, and a host of other boring stuff. We offer introductory classes in all of the above (seasonal) as well as a chipping range and electric bike rental.
We have 2 dogs and welcome animals. Be sure they are leashed. Our boxer looks intimidating but in reality he’s a timid scaredy cat.
Morris Farm, Barco NC (Harvest Host)
Amelia County, Virginia
Airstream and Ford F-250
Large, quiet, country setting with two small ponds which we enjoyed walking around. Lots of birds, friendly dogs, and exceptionally gracious hosts. Enjoyed a fire and great conversation with the hosts on their back deck. Highly recommend this location if you are in the area.
As their listed property wasn’t available, our kind hosts offered an alternative spot for us to boondock. We were pleased with the great communication, connection, and creative thinking of our hosts.
