My wife and I travel with our Golden Retriever Gracie. We like to camp at State and National Parks and COE campgrounds. We have stayed at a couple of city owned campgrounds that were nice. We look forward to hosting and hope to be a guest on our travels.
Gracie, our Golden Retriever. She is very friendly. She loves her ball and children. She tolerates high energy dogs. She has two cat buddies at home.
We hope to boondock out west someday.
Edwardsville, Illinois. There are many restaurants and stores in Edwardsville. It is about 20 miles NE of St. Louis, MO. It is close to Interstate I-55 and I-70 / I-270 and I-255.

It was great to be able to host Aimlesswanderers for the second time. We continued our conversation. Looking forward to meeting up again in the future.
Best part of Boondockers Welcome. They came as strangers but left as friends. Would gladly welcome them back again!
We enjoyed hosting Aimlesswanders one evening. They shared many of their experiences camping in Florida over the previous weeks. We had a relaxing time discussing their work and the excitement they have upon his recent retirement. We look forward to possibly being hosted by them when we retire, as they are from Illinois and will be on our itinerary once we have time to travel more extensively. They are welcome back to Heaven Hill anytime!
Very easy going couple, respectful, quiet, congenial. Gracie fits the description too. We shared stories on the front porch in the cold weather and the time did fly by do fit their name "Aimlesswanderers" :). They are welcome back here anytime for enjoyed them allot.
You'll understand the title if you ever get a chance to stay at the secluded, quiet spot. Hosts were wonderful.
Really enjoyed our night with Aimless Wanderers, and appreciated The hosts “Don’t be afraid”, Advice about the long gravel drive through the woods. When we got there we COULD turn around and it was wonderful.
We played with their friendly Golden retriever and enjoyed our chat with the host.
A lovely peaceful night.
A lovely location with friendly hosts. We got to chat a bit and enjoy the company of their golden. Thanks so much for accommodating us. We would be happy to stop by again on our next trip through the area. Thank you!
Had a very nice stay with the Aimless Wanderers! Very secluded and safe venue with lots of wildlife. The breakfast frittata was scrumptious! Highly recommend.
This was our 1st Boondockers Welcome experience and boy did they ever raise the bar! Such wonderful people, amazing hosts, beautiful home and great area we hope to re-visit!
What a wonderful couple so warm and inviting from the minute we arrived. The parking area is flat and level and fairly private nestled by a barn and surrounded by farm land and woods. We got to see deer and turkey in their fields and it was so peaceful. Also got to met Gracie the dog who loves to play ball and will tell you all about it. This morning before we left they brought us a western frittata omelette baked in an 8 inch skillet which was at the top of the list of any omelette we have ever had. Unfortunately with our schedules we were not able to schedule more downtime with our host but we definitely will next time we come this way. There is no other place in this area we would want to stay.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at White Pine Haven. The location was convenient to Edwardsville and the spot more than generous. I was easily tucked in next to a pole barn. My hosts were welcoming and friendly. I couldn't ask for a better place!
My husband and I are traveling west to Utah and White Pine Haven was one of our stops. I cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay! Our hosts were an absolute delight. We thoroughly enjoyed walking the lane leading to their home, accompanied by their ever-faithful Golden Retriever, Gracie. There is a beautiful pond that we visited and our hosts explained the enormous bass in that pond. When we got back to the house, we enjoyed homemade peach ice cream on their front porch. If we hadn’t needed to get on the road so early Thursday morning, there was an offer to cook us a western frittata. But I am in luck, as I was given the recipe to make when we get back home to New Jersey.
We had a great time at White Pine Haven. We only stayed one night but would love to return in the future! Our hosts were kind and generous and we really enjoyed visiting with them. Access to water and electric was a welcome bonus as was play time with Gracie the Goldie and a delicous homemade breakfast skillet. Hope we run into them in FL!
Had a great stay on their beautiful piece of land. Our girls had fun tossing the ball with their dog Gracie. Hosts were super friendly and had a great chat. Hope to cross paths sometime down the road.
We are so appreciative of this host. We arrived later than we wanted and it was dark and pouring. He stayed outside with us and guided us into the spot. He also waited for us to get hooked to power. Last night we visited with them on their back deck and shared our travel adventures. We had an issue with our AC and he called a local parts dealer to find out about part availability. They also cooked us breakfast this morning and delivered it to our door as we were packing up. These hosts went above and beyond to help us feel welcomed and comfortable. Their property is beautiful and easily accessible even in the pouring rain in the dark although I wouldn’t recommend arriving in either of those conditions. We would definitely stay with them again in the future. Thankful for their gracious hospitality. Gracie is a sweetie too and loves playing with her ball!
We stopped by White Pine Haven for one night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We enjoyed meeting Aimlesswanderers and Gracie and spending the evening talking on their deck!
Their property is beautiful, and the parking spot is level, easy to back into and with easy access to power and water.
We will definitely come back off we are in the areas again!
I don’t know if we were more impressed with the location, the hospitality or the homemade ice team! 🍦 Enjoyed our night here!
This is a phenomenal spot hosted by great people and a super friendly golden retriever! We got a front row seat of field being crop dusted while we played fetch/catch with the dogs and kids. The hosts were friendly and communicative, and they were kind enough to offer to go on walks and chat. As an added bonus, we stayed during what was probably one of the most intense—and awesome—thunder and lightning storms I’ve ever seen! The lightning lit up the entire sky, and the thunder was loud enough to make everything shake. Would definitely stay here again!!!
This was our first Boondockers Welcome stay, and our hosts sure set the bar high! Beautiful setting, quiet countryside, bicycle/running trails very close by, level gravel side, and hookups! But the best part by far was the friendliness of the hosts. We sat on their back deck to chat, they checked in with us to make sure all was well, gave us tips and suggestions for visiting the area and even made us breakfast before we left! I would have spent another day here if we weren't expected at our next stop. Oh, and the homemade blackberry jam is outstanding!
Thank you so much for having me! This is an amazing place to rest and relax. The hosts are very accommodating and highly recommended!
Another SUPER HOST..... Very accommodating, quiet, relaxing place to rest and regroup. Very nice to talk with hosts in evening on front porch sharing travel stories. So nice to chat with those with same interest in camping. Definitely recommend this BW retreat.....pls if in the Chs SC area look us up. "HPYTRLS" and hope to see you down the road....
Aimlesswanders are fantastics hosts. Wow, talk about setting the bar high! Meeting Gracie was a delight! This was my first boondockers welcome experience and to say my hosts were welcoming is an understatement. They are so kind, the space and hookups are magnificent! The ride back on the stone road… can be challenging however I loved it. My favorite kind of driveway! I truly hope our paths cross again! Thank you for your kindness and generosity and your breakfast was so thoughtful not to mention delicious!
I give this location and host a 9.5. If I would have got a breakfast it would have been a 10.
Next visit I'm sure I'll be able to adjust that number.
Thanks so much Folks for allowing me a night in your paradise location.
Super spot to stay. Quiet and peaceful with 50 amp and water. Really enjoyed visiting with the hosts who were very friendly and hospitable. Beautiful surroundings, great for walking the dogs. Had fun playing fetch with their sweet dog Gracie. Would absolutely stay again!
Had a great stay and enjoyed a nice walk and visit with the hosts. Very accommodating and helpful.
Aimless Wanderers are such thoughtful hosts who go out of their way to make you feel welcome! Beautiful drive in and easy, level parking with amenities! Our kids had. a blast with their sweet Golden Retriever Gracie while we enjoyed chatting on the porch with them. Highly recommended!
I give this location 5 stars. The hosts were really easy to deal with and very enjoyable to talk to. The location was fantastic, the site was level and there was power and water. If you’re in the area this should be your spot for the night.
Very welcoming hosts. There property is beautiful quiet and peaceful. We look forward to going again.
Good communication, level site, easy access to power and water. Pet friendly and their golden retriever, Gracie was very nice to our 6 lb Josie. The hosts are super hospitable and made us feel right at home.
This was a wonderful place to stay over. We had a very enjoyable visit relaxing with our hosts. Very helpful and accomodating. Much appreciated.
This was our very first BDW stay and we chose Aimless Wanderers' home in Illinois. We took a different route than our usual because this location is not far off the interstate, down a couple of rural roads with PLENTY of room to back into a spacious, wide, and level gravel site with electric + water next to their barn. We did not visit too long that evening after plugging into 50 AMP electric. We even left our truck connected to the trailer. as we had a longer-than-usual 1st day of travel on our 1000+ mile trip. We wanted to get settled in so we passed on their invitation to take an evening walk to explore with their beautiful dog, Gracie. Maybe next time ...
Beautiful property and great hosts. Their dog, Gracie, was so cute and friendly. Our dog got along well with her. We highly recommend staying at this BOONDOCKING place. Will definitely look them up next time we are in the area.
What a great location for a wonderful stay overnight. Had a great time speaking with the host during a nice evening walk. Beautiful level site with water and electric. All guest just be ready for a great surprise and gracious offer before you depart. We loved it and they are welcome to visit us hopefully in the near future.
Welcoming hosts that provide a nice level site. Able to park our 40-foot 5th wheel without unhooking from our truck. Enjoyed good conversations on their beautiful property. It was a pleasure to be their guests.
Very nice and very quiet spot hosts were very friendly and gracious.
The hosts were so accommodating and friendly! There property is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. We will undoubtedly schedule future travel plans to spend a night or two with these hosts. Host took time to take a walk showing the property and sharing some of there RVing experiences. Boondocking doesn't get any better then right here with these hosts!!! Thank you so much and we will see you again!
Wonderful hosts, and a beautiful site. Very easy to park. I enjoyed spending time with the hosts. I had time to take a couple of walks with them and to meet their adorable grandson. Hosts were very helpful locating a bicycle shop and making site seeing recommendations. Thanks for the hospitality!
We had to same day request and they were very awsome to work with us. When we arrived they showed us where to park. It was an awsome flat gravel area near their barn with electric. Which saved us, because it was snowing outside one of the nights. The next day the host came and fished with us at his lake. He helped us filet the fish and his wife cooked them. We were so gracious to share dinner with them. The day it snowed the host brought out a hot sandwich with pickles and even baked us an amazing breakfast on our way out. Overly hospitable and amazing. We will always be so greatful for our stay. I highly recommend, our hosts were more than amazing.
Our hosts were great communicators in advance of our stay, and very welcoming. The setting is so peaceful, with all the conveniences. Highly recommend and hope to visit again!
We had a great stay - location is good and level - host met us and offered to bring us a breakfast- wow how neat- told us of a great place for supper- didn’t get to visit much as I would have like - left early next morning to get to grandkids- will diffidently working making another visit here
We so enjoyed our stay at White Pine Haven. Beautiful property with a great sunset view. Loved setting on the deck enjoying a good conversation with the hosts. They made us feel at home from the time we pulled up until we left.
Certainly will try to stay with them again in the future.
We absolutely loved our time at WhitePine Haven! Beautiful property! The site was great with even gravel, water, and electric. It was so peaceful and quiet. Hosts were so welcoming, friendly, and their dog, Gracie, is so loveable! We would love to stop here again in the future! Thank you for your kind hospitality and conversation!
We had a great time at this location. It’s a beautiful, peaceful property. The hosts were very kind and friendly. We loved getting to know them and hearing the history of their property. Our boys loved playing with their sweet dog too.
Glad to been able to stop in and staying overnight. The site is awesome, some may not need to set levelers down. We were heading home and been putting some long miles each day. Wife wasn't feeling good and was asleep by 6 pm. Hope to stop again and have us be more sociable. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
We had a very pleasant stay and chat. This couple went above and beyond to make sure we were settled In and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here if you are passing through. Beautiful property, Great conversation, and Delicious food! Cheers!
I knew I liked these folks when they explained their screen name "Aimless Wanderers". They enjoy driving with no particular destination and at each intersection, randomly choose anew direction!
They were fun to chat with, albeit briefly. If they'll have me, I'd love to stay with them again someday.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay with Aimlesswanderers . Quiet, safe, clean and picturesque location that is close to a an intestate. The great hosts, made us feel welcomed, which made for a relaxing night. The homemade blackberry jelly was a plus. Our hosts also provided us with a personalized overview of the area and suggested next day activities along the Mississippi river. Leveled site with easy access and electric hook up were an added bonus.
