We have been travelling with older Airstream trailers for 15 years and enjoy meeting people along the way.
I do repairs on vintage Airstream trailers
We have no pets
Any out of the way place in the Southern states during the winter.
A small town just outside of Stratford
We currently have 3 old Airstream trailers from 1960 to 1998 and a 1950 Spartan
enjoyed the chat we had , loved there trailer , will welcome them back anytime
They are a couple who love to travel and, at least in this case, show off their 1950 Spartan which has been beautifully reconditioned. They had just attended a Vintage Trailer Show in Vermont. After they arrived we began talking and found out that they had been to many of the same places we had been and, in fact, we had been there at the same time but we didn't know each other then. That has all changed now as, even after just two nights, we consider them as "friends and family." They are certainly welcome to visit us again anytime they're in the area. Great couple, wonderful people. Thanks for the visit.
Not only were this couple great guests, they're wonderful Boondockers Welcome ambassadors! They stayed with us two nights prior to attending the Tin Can Tourist Rally in our local park. We followed them to the rally where we got to see a bunch of other neat vintage RVs and meet some club members. It was great! We would welcome Mossbackdoug and their gleaming, 1960 Airstream back any time!
We really enjoyed having Doug and Terri stay. They are completely self sufficient in their beautiful Airstream trailer. We highly recommend them as boondocking guests.
Had a great view of the river. If time taken could see the fish and watch them get to the surface for food. Had a good stay, with pleasant hosts. Hope they come our way to stay.
Our stay was great. The hosts let our kids play in their backyard. They were generously hospitable. It was wonderful to meet them.
We stayed for two nights in September 2017. We had a wonderful time boondocking with Doug and his wife. Shared Airstream travel stories, and enjoyed touring some of the units Doug has restored. We also got a great restaurant recommendation in Stratford, and parking tips for attending a play at the Shakespeare Festival. Many thanks to them.
This was our first time boondocking and it couldn't have been better. Mossbackdoug was a wonderful host, had full hookup and being on the river for happy hour was made better with the hot out of the oven pumpkin, cranberry muffins. your rig is one of the best we've seen. Thanks for making our first boondocking a great experience, hope to see you again soon
Keith and I just visited Mossbackdoug for the first time...what a wonderful spot! Camping along a pretty river with fish jumping and beautiful blue herons skimming the water...aaahhhh. The one thing that made it even better...besides our generous and welcoming hosts...was...start the drumroll...FULL hookups!!
A bit of history on the building itself and where the term 'mossback' came from, made for interesting conversation as we sat and watched the Avon flow gently past.
I highly recommend these Boondockers for their warm personalities and for making a fuss over Keith, even though they are not dog owners themselves. Hope to see them again soon.
And if you go, ask for a tour of the Spartan...awesome!!!
Linda and Keith the dog
We arrived to a friendly welcome before we even got out of our Roadtrek!
Interesting couple who restore classic Airstream trailers - and do an amazing job of it. Great spot on the river just outside town.
A very interesting couple with a passion for Airstream trailers. We couldn't have been happier for having discovered them. They are welcoming and helpful. We highly recommend them and hope to meet them again.
We stayed with Doug and Terry for two nights last week.
They are charming hosts with a lovely location on the Avon River and are have a wealth of information on the care and feeding of Airstreams. Thanks Doug for the guided tours of you various trailers.
