Both retired for the last 9 years. Dick is very handy at fixing things and has the tools and equipment to do so. Jaye is a birdwatcher and happy traveling around looking for birds where ever they may be . We have two wonderful Golden Retrievers that play well with other dogs and are good with kids. We have traveled extensively both in our careers and in our retirement and are looking forward to more adventures. We are interested in hearing what other people have done and where they have been.
Widely traveled around the US and Canada. Dick is very handy and can fix almost anything (excluding electrical stuff). Jaye is adequate with a computer, a fair cook and a reasonably good photographer.
Yes, we have two beautiful pure white golden retrievers, Mazie and Trixie. Friendly with other dogs and people. Don't know about cats since they have never met one.
Alaska, Yukon, British Columbia. Quebec, all of the Maritimes and eastern Canada. In the lower 48 we are mostly in State Parks, unless we luck into some BLM land and National Forest Service Land.
Lake Delton, Wisconsin, originally from St Paul, Minnesota.
Ford 350 Dulie Pickup which pulls a 30 ft Cougar 5th wheel or hauls a Lance Camper when we are heading out on rougher terrain (mostly in Alaska and Canada). Both are fairly new and both have slide outs. We have not been creative enough to add any funky décor. Both rigs are pretty standard off the factory floor models.
Had a great yet short stay. Really enjoyed the beautiful views, lovely company, and sweet dogs.
They have a wonderful place, they are very gracious host. And alot of fun. J was even nice enough to give my dog a bath when he rolled in stinky stuff and was still smelly after my bath and treatment didn't work. We really loved the beautiful site, it is nice and quiet and peaceful. Nice walking trails.bAnd very doggy friendly. Definitely will come back again if they will have us.
This was our first time Boondocking on a host’s property and I must say it was absolutely amazing! The property is gorgeous and the company was even better! Our 3 sons had a blast and our oldest (6) begged us to stay longer. We could not have asked for a better experience! We will be back when coming through this area again.
We arrived just ahead of the rain but Dick and Jaye had us cozied in and hooked up to 20 amp electric by their pond before it let loose. We shared a wonderful hour or so of wine and conversation accompanied by their two beautiful Irish Creme Golden Retrievers. Later their "puppy" came over for a romp with out little terrier. Morning broke rain-free so our dog and their dog and I had a great walk through the property. Birds everywhere. Heard but did not see Sandhill Cranes.Jaye is a great birder and Dick is into golf. We had a wonderful time and are making this as a favorite in our account.
An exceptional place to boondock, provided by exceptional hosts. Although I didn’t meet Dick (he was out fishing on Lake Michigan) Jaye made me feel right at home on their beautiful property, just minutes off the highway. Can’t say enough good things about this warm, gracious and lovely woman who, from the minute I pulled up, seemed like a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time. Her two beautiful Golden Retrievers, Maisie & Trixie (a raucous pup!) were a hoot and my Yorkie had the time of his life chasing Trixie all over Jaye’s beautiful back yard (although “acreage” is a more apt description than “yard”!). I was actually sad to leave but had to get on towards my destination. However, with the amount of travelling Jaye & Dick do, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ll meet again.
Great location wonderful fun and educational visit Very nice folks pleasure to have their company thank you and I hope to see you again
Great place great people great time So nice and helpful too.
Hope to see them again
We had a delightful two night stay with these hosts. Wonderful quiet location and thanks for the welcoming sit by the fire.
From the minute we arrived we were treated like family! We were welcomed by three beautiful dogs and a warm and inviting bon fire. Jaye is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great recommendations - Dick's experience in building is echoed in their beautiful log home/garage/workshop. Their property and views of the surrounding hills/ridges are spectacular!!! Wish we had been able to stay longer, but we will definitely try to go back again sometime - and we look forward to hosting them when they travel to our area!! Thanks again Jaye &Dick!!!
What great people. Enjoyable conversation and location. Perfect for someone traveling I90 through Wisconsin. Q-U-I-ET!
We ended up not actually making it to Dick's and Jaye's but I wanted to say thanks for all your efforts to get us there and we will likely make it another time since Teri's son lives in the area. Thanks again!
We tried to stay with DickandJaye but they we booked. To our chagrin it was Memorial Day weekend 2016 and we didn't realize it. They were quick to respond and offered a place after the holiday but we were unable to stay later. If you are looking for a place to boondock I would definitely check in with DickandJaye
