We are a retired couple who after full-timing for 7 years have settled here in north Alabama. We continued to RV after moving here for a couple of years but due to health reasons had to hang up the keys. But we love having visitors stay on our 2 RV sites.
The wife is originally from southern New Jersey, Hubby is from Lake Charles area of Louisiana. We have 5 children between us. Wife's girls and families live in MD and PA. Hubby's son and family live nearby and one daughter in Louisiana and one near Houston. So most of our traveling is visiting with the families.
Having RVed from Rio Grande Valley of Texas to Alaska and Rhode Island to Yuma, AZ we have lots of traveling stories to share.
During our RVing days we were members of NOMADS, a mission of the United Methodist Church. We would volunteer for two or three 3-week projects a year at camps, churches, retreat centers and community outreach. This included building, repairs, landscaping and whatever else the agency needed us to do.
We have a sweet Beagle named Biscuit. He showed up on our porch a year and a half ago. We attempted to find his owner but to no avail. We fell in love. He has the run of the property and will greet all guests. Never fear Biscuit, he is our welcome committee.
We also have 3 ducks (at this time). Unfortunately we've had more ducklings but the resident hawks like them too. The ducks can be seen from your RV as they swim in the pond or might even greet you wanting a handout.
The pond has catfish and blue gill. We have fish food available should you want to see them feed.
Your pets are welcome here.
We live 10 miles outside of Cullman, AL. Cullman has any thing you would need. Two Walmart's and a Publix. Lots of restaurants like Applebees, Cracker Barrel, Dennys, Logans Steakhouse, 2 McDonalds, 2 Burger Kings, 2 Zaxbys, Popeyes, 2 KFC., Golden Corral, Jim n Nicks BBQ. A couple of Mexican Restaurants. Locally owned establishments. We are but a few miles from Clarkson Covered Bridge and the Ave Maria Grotto. The warehouse district of Cullman is an area of small boutique shops, restaurants, etc. There are several auto dealerships and RV repair facilities in Cullman or nearby Our RV sites sit on our 4 acres out in the country. We are less than 8 miles from I-65 X308. We are surrounded by woods and fields. We have one site that is 50 amp Full Hook Up. The other is electric and water. Should you require a 30 amp hookup, we will provide an adapter for your use while here.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. And the location was perfect.
Phyllen are among the nicest people we've ever met. Their property is postcard worthy... AND they offered 50A FHU. They had me at nicest. Only challenge now is figuring out how and when we can return. Thank-you for your gracious hospitality.
Such a peaceful spot with very friendly hosts. The duck pond is beautiful. We had all the comforts of home. So happy that we got to meet such nice people. Their dog was so cute and the ducks and fish were fun to watch. Look forward to another visit next year!
Our four boys had so much fun on the property playing near the pond and with their dog. The hosts were very hospitable and a pleasure to talk with. The scenery was pleasant and the property was so quiet and peaceful. Thank you for making this stay such a memorable one for our family! Would love to visit here again sometime.
Thank you so much to our hosts.
You have a beautiful place in the country very easy to get to from the highway.
We truly appreciated the wonderful conversation we had.
Also enjoy the peace and quiet away from traffic noise.
Our best to you and Biscuit. We will stop by again when we are out your way.
Had a great night. Was not expecting the ability to dump and top off water. That was awesome. Most importantly had a great visit and met the Beagle, and the ducks and great conversation with hosts.
Phyllis and Lenny were great hosts! They were very welcoming and have a nice quiet location with lots of room. They helped us out with an extra water hose and an adapter for the electric. There was plenty of room and their road had little enough traffic that I could easily walk my dog on it. We were able to work part time without distractions, it was the perfect location for our needs. Thanks again Phyllis and Lenny for letting us stay at your beautiful place!
We had a lovely evening at The East Estate. Very friendly hosts. The site and surrounding areas are beautiful. We highly recommend staying here.
We truly enjoyed our stay with phyllen. The East Estate is a wonderful place to relax and recharge... which is just what we did. We stayed in our 42 ft motorhome and we had no issues getting to the site. With all the amenities of a campground... plus a lovely duck pond to watch the rising sun... it was a stay we will return to when we are back in the area. Phyllen are wonderful hosts... ready to do anything they can to help... or to leave you be if that's what you need. Thank you Phyllen for such a great few days.
Fantastic stay overlooking the duck pond. Mrs. was very gracious and accommodating. Unfortunately Mr. was away attending to family. Looking forward to another visit.
Wonderful weekend. Enjoyed the natural beauty. Loved the little Methodist churchNCand our little dog Peincess felt like home.
Happy Trails
