My Wife and I enjoy traveling the county in our RV and prefer boondocking to renting a camp site.
We have enough space here (home) to accommodate other RVers wanting to boondock as they pass through the Akron Ohio area.
have a repair complete repair shop . Was a mechanic most of my working life.
also was a State Certified Electrical Contractor.
have owned five motor homes in my life, very experienced at keeping a motorhome systems repaired.
We have two cats ..... but the cats are seldom outside
We are on the West side of Akron.... near the small town of Copley. Near the intersection of RT 18 and Medina Line road.

These guys had all kinds of problems getting here, so they got in late. We didn't get to visit a lot, but we enjoyed talking to them. They were super friendly, and we enjoyed talking to them about the garden. They are welcome back anytime.
This guest was a treat to host, met only briefly on his arrival but made quite an impression.
This was our 1st BW stay, & David set the bar high! Made us feel so welcome, & gave great tips on accessing the NP via the backroads. Our site was cement pad, 30amp & sewer hookup, plus access to water. And the site is private. David checked to see if we needed anything both days of our stay. Thank you so much David!
Great host, got us to our spot and we had a great weekend visiting the area. And great communication which is always helpful! thanks for having us!
David always makes us feel so welcome when we stay here!
Friendly welcome. Easy pull in, even though it was a bit muddy. Great location to check out the national forest and run errands. Easy pull out with a U-shape driveway/road that leads to a 2nd exit onto the main road.
A great stay. David met me in the driveway and showed me where to park. He is a very gracious host. The site was perfect. Very level and had Elec and dump. The water spigot was about 100 ft away. My site is concrete but another grassy site that has electric is sloped. It would be hard to level my 30' class A on it. A smaller rig might work.. There is a third site that had a big Allegro on it.
Cleveland has a lot to offer. I went to the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. LOTS to see!
Leisure acres is an incredible stay. The host is a gracious and kind gentleman, with a huge heart. We were able to stay for a couple of days while exploring the national park.
Great hosts! Great spot! Close to everything. We loved it and would visit again.
Our stay was great. Leisure Acres was a safe place to stop while traveling during a heavy rain day.
David and Laura were very hospitable hosts. We appreciate the FHU available. Great location for exploring the area.
Would highly recommend
We made a late afternoon request to stay the same night. Even though his site was fully booked with other RVs, David made space for us and ran an extra line so we could have power. A very kind gentleman!
Great location. Close to the park. Great for us to go into the park and come back to a safe place to stay. If only the host could guarantee that it wouldn’t rain so much :)
Thanks for providing this space.
Great location, quiet and so close to everything! Thank you! Will stay again ☺️
Leisure Acres was a safe place to stop while traveling. The host was welcoming and helpful and super friendly. The pull through was nice for those of us who worry about backing up!
Didn't get to meet David but he was very responsive and friendly on the phone. The location is very convenient and quiet. Having 30 amp was great for our first overnight in our new rig.
Watch for the mailbox as it is on a four lane road. Great location for us to visit Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Amish country. Some road noise to contend with but it settles down. Good overnight or couple day stopping place. The owner was out of town so didn't get to meet him but great communications leading up to the visit and photos of where to set our unit.
Our stay was great. Our host was very kind and helped us out where he could. The spot was close to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Full bars on AT&T & Verizon. We would definitely stay here again.
We felt very welcome and at home here, David was out of town for the holiday but we made friends with some of the other boondockers guests who were also there. We had some mechanical issues and dave was so generous and understanding in our situation, he did everything he could to help us from over the phone and honestly, we wouldn’t have been able to get through that situation without his kind help!!! Awesome experience, highly recommend his place :)
David was so nice and accommodating. He let us stay even though he was not there. We stayed in his field and it was just beautiful. Saw a couple of groundhogs and deer, lots of bunnies too! Had fun playing frisbee in the field with my kids! 10/10 would stay here again!
We had a very peaceful stay for three days at Leisure Acres. “D” was kind enough to give us very specific directions to the area on his property that was set up for us to boondock. The location was towards the back of the property, away from the road. It was very quiet except for the lull of the falling rain. We were not able to meet “D” but we had an opportunity to converse on the phone. "D" was kind to check to ensure that we were set up and that everything was going smoothly. What a pleasure it was to have the availability of 50 amp electricity and water. The access to electricity was very appreciated as we are having inverter issues with our new rig. When the weather cleared up, we were able to visit Cuyahoga Valley National Park and see the beautiful water falls there. We want to thank “D” very much for hosting us. We hope someday our paths cross so that we can meet in person. Until then, enjoy!
This was a wonderful stay. The hosts were not in town but let us stay anyways. There were two other guests staying during the same time but everyone was quiet and respectful. Mr. DL called to check on us and gave us many suggestions for seeing the area. We appreciated his kindness and will definitely stop by again if I’m the area.
Very welcoming! Nice spot for the 5 nights we needed. Will stay again if in the area. Very close to everything we needed!
Beautiful people and fellow RVers. Location is easy access and amenities are like being in park. I hope to come through to see them again. Go see Stan Hewyt Gardens.
We loved our stay, David was so nice and great to talk to!
Leisure Acres is a great place to stay to see and enjoy the surrounding area. The host is kind and generous and happy to share stories of the property. I was helped with suggestions of local eateries and other tidbits. Used the location to visit Cleveland a couple of times. Certainly would recommend this stop. Thank you for your hospitality.
Sweet couple, beautiful gardens, great property! We had transmission issues and David let us know that we could stay till fixed. That took stress off of an already stressful situation. Luckily it only took a day for repairs so we were able to keep to our schedule. Very grateful for their hospitality and kindness. Look forward to visiting again when back in area!
DavidLeisure has a great spot close to Cuyahoga NP! Only 20min away. It's quiet but also close to the freeway for easy access. He is also very kind and met me in the pouring rain and even introduced me to the other guests staying there.
We had a great time a Leisure Acres. Our host and his wife treated us like family the minute we arrived. We loved the tour of their garden and the tips on the irrigation system. I enjoyed the classic cars at various stages of restoration. I wanted to roll up my sleeves and start helping out. We come from similar backgrounds in our working life so it was like visiting friends and talking shop. It was great!!
If we do ever make it back up this way I will definitely stop here again.
We stayed overnight at the Leisure Acres while passing through from Massachusetts to Michigan. Great experience for our first BDW.
My husband and I loved staying here. The host was very nice and very accommodating. We would absolutely stay again!
We needed an overnight stay and this turned out to be a wonderful spot. Easy, level and the additional hookups were welcome on the hot night. Very friendly people!
This was another great location which was very easy to find, Very nice and quiet space. Very gracious host who greeted us at the driveway and directed us in.
Thanks for a great stay.
Very great stay. One of those ultra hosts that goes above what you would expect for a BW location. We had a flat concrete pad, 30amp and even dump. D is the type of guy that has a ton of old trucks and things laying around, but fixing up their Coach as they are travelers as well. The graciously open their space for fellow travelers, thanks again!
Very accommodating, helpful. Rained a lot so couldn't enjoy the property.
DavidLeisure is one of the most gracious and understanding people I've ever met in my life, he's inspired me! Like him I look forward to helping out where I can. If you ever need anything you have my number, please don't hesitate to call. Thanks again for everything.
My husband and I needed a few nights rest on our travels, and the host and his spot were just what we needed. Also was great to have full hookups! Would definitely stay here again if we come this way again.
Stayed for several nights in a shady spot. After spending months in the desert, we loved the shade! Would stay again!
The host was super friendly and knowledgeable about where to go and what to see in the area! We were REALLY appreciative of the the electric hookup since it was cloudy and rained both days we were here! We really enjoyed meeting and talking with the host and learning about his business. If we are ever in this area again we will for sure stay here!
Truly enjoyed our stay. Gave us great information about Cuyahoga NP and a Blue Heron viewing area that was really cool. We plugged into the 30 amp electric and used the sewer hookup. Definitely would recommend staying here.
Due to the holiday weekend, all campsites were booked. We needed a night's rest from our return trip to WI. Our GPS took us in the wrong direction but our host was readily available with directions and even met us at the end of the driveway to make sure we found it. Easy in even with the truck in tow. Host was very generous and offered us electrical hookup and water.
We spent a great few days here on our way to Cleveland and beyond. Concrete pad, 30 amp hookup too. Our host couldn’t have been nicer. Recommended.
The hosts greeted me and made sure I got situated. They even helped me with leveling my Motorhome. They provided me with electric and water if needed. I had a great spot by their garden and spent a quiet comfortable night.
Nice host greeted us upon arrival and let us know where everything was - we took advantage of the power, water and dump, getting us all ready to go for the next leg of our trip. Thank you!
David was an excellent host. He got me settled in right away and made sure I had what I needed to be comfortable. The site is close to all the great places in the Cuyahoga Valley, including a National Park and many metro parks. I loved my stay and hope to visit again when the leaves start to change.
Look for the John Deer tractor mailbox! We have a 40 ft MH w/toad so it was a little challenging to get down into the gravel driveway. But once we traversed the drive we were greeted by a wonderful host! Dave gave us a couple options since we were the only one staying there for the night. The 30 amp hook up was all we needed for the stay but he also had sewer at the site. Additionally he has another 50 amp and water further into his property.
It was a great location for us to visit the Cuyahoga National Park ~ which was absolutely beautiful! Dave gave us the local path to the park, so we didn’t miss a thing.
Our GSP loved the open fields that he was allowed to run off leash in.
Highly recommend this host!
We stayed for 3 nights at Leisure Acres. It was easy to find, of a main road. Our host was mowing as we pulled in and he guided us to a nice level spot on a concrete pad. We had the ability to hook up to sewer but chose not to. We had electric and access to water nearby, where we filled up the water tanks. They have an expansive garden they are working on, and plenty of critters in the area. I saw a groundhog for the first time while out walking the dog. We chatted with our hosts, who recommended some sight seeing in the Amish countryside, which was awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and will request another stay if we are ever in the area. Thank you!
Great stop. Host recommended the blue heron viewing area, and Lehman's store. Did both and both were great. Did Ledges trail in cuyahoga n.p. and would recommend that too. The drive along Bath rd to heron's nests was very nice. Do that!
Host was exceptional. Thank you!
David has a small area for guests, we were 1 of 2 there for the overnight. It is very convenient to dinner and grocery options. He and his wife have a beautiful garden area.
More kind hearted and interesting people you will not find!
The host and his family eagerly greeted me and we had a great visit.
The spot was just what the Dr ordered as it was easy in and out and close to Akron where I was fortunate enough to visit all of the historic AA sites from the mid 1930's!
Thank you for hosting this wayward traveler, I really appreciate it.
We had an easy and friendly 3 nights at Leisure Acres. The host was very accommodating when we had a slight change in plans, and helped get us settled. Bonus was some help with a mechanical issue, as well as some great tips on local things to do. Thanks so much!
David was so attentive to our needs and was unbelievably helpful! He was generous with his time, tools and expertise. He is a great mechanic and helped us out with our fifth wheel and gave us great pointers too!
Host greeted us upon arrival and made sure we had what we needed. Access to water, 30 amp, and dump - so luxurious! :)
Hope to stay again someday.
We met with our host and they gave us a nice concrete spot to park on. We were very greatful that they offered electric because it rained most of our stay. A nice cozy spot on beautiful property.
The host greeted us right away and let us stay on the concrete pad that had a 30 amp service and a sewer dump! They also allowed us to use water from their hose. They were busy working on the engine of their motor home...lol. They definitely know what RV-ers need and they were very warm and welcoming! All the way down to the exit where we could drive through their property without turning around. Thank you!!
Owner was very nice. All hookups were available and worked great.
Our experience at Leisure acres was the best! Our host met us upon arrival and was very helpful in getting us set up providing us with a water hose a flat cement parking site, with dump and electric. What else could anyone need or want? They were the friendliest folks and a genuine pleasure to spend time with. Hope to see them again in our travels😁
We appreciated being able to use the hookups. After two days on the road, a hot shower was refreshing. Thanks for the hospitality.
Our hosts were great and we had FULL hookups and a dumpster for garbage. Great find. Our hosts were there to greet us and were wonderful. Thank you.
We had a great stay. David was so helpful. Wish him the best of luck woth all of his projects.
We're full-timers and were in town to take care of our yearly appointments. This location was in perfect proximity to highways. The host was amazing and very accommodating. Even let us use his extended hose for dump as ours didn't reach.
We hope to return again and see how well your raised garden is doing. Thanks for a great stay!
We needed a place to try out our new travel trailer and this was a good place to do that, and it was also our first time staying with a Boondocker's Welcome host. Our host was very helpful and friendly. We did have an issue with the neighboring guest and the split electricity but we didn't know until they visited us in the morning.
Our hosts were so kind and and thoughtful. Had a wonderful grassy, sunny spot. We had multiple great conversations. They are great Boondockers Welcome hosts!
Thanks so much
We are first time boondockers and this was a great start. David was very nice and helpful. (He even helped pull us out of the mud when we were leaving). We didn’t get to hang out much because of the weather and our exploring, but we enjoyed our visit.
Lovely experience, lovely hosts! I was completely at ease the moment i spoke to David and his wife on the day i arrived.
On day #2, i encountered problems with the refrigerator. So I called David, who was away visiting family out of state. We spent several minutes on the phone attempting to troubleshoot the problem without success.
The next morning, there was a knock on the door from an employee of David’s who said that he had called her to check up on me and see if i needed help with anything.
These days, it’s rare to find people of this caliber! I will definitely be coming back, whether it’s for camping overnight or just sitting at their dining room table playing dominoes!
Lovely family and gracious hosts. Water, sewer & electric! Perfect for the frigid Ohio nights. Easy access, within mile of major freeways. Check out Cuyahoga NP! Thank you DavidLeisure!
David was so sweet. We are on our first camping expedition. Got there and he came out to greet us and get us set up before heading in to bed. We were warmly greeted and enjoyed a peaceful night's rest. Cannot thank you enough for your kindness. Blessings to you.
First time using this site, he responded within 10 minutes. Showed me where to park when I got there, and had all the hookups.
So grateful for our hosts' hospitality on their lovely property. A warm welcome, water, electric, and even a dump site - what more could you need! Thank you again!
Leisure Acres is a wonderful place to visit. DL is a very warm, welcoming and helpful person. The location is roomy and easy to access. We felt like part of the family. We would love to stay there again.
what an amazing family. Very welcoming and caring. These are the kind of people you want a neighbors! Would love to see them again someday.
Our host was very welcoming and generous with his facility and knowledge. This was our first week as RV owners and we were glad to have a space like this to figure some things out.
Very welcoming & helpful. Off the road outback with pull through possibilities. Parked under the old oak so we had a few acorn drops! We visited nearby Brandywine Falls in the Cuyahoga Valley Park. Nice picturesque falls with trails (tight parking). Great stopover for a night. Thanks!
Had a great overnight stop through visit at Leisure Acres. Was raining the whole time we were there so didn’t have much interaction with host, but was greeted warmly upon arrival and helped in getting setup with a level spot and electric hookup. Was offered use of dumps and water, although we were not in need. Thank you for opening us your home to fellow travelers. Be well.
David was more than accommodating! He gassed up his go carts so our kids could ride on his trail, printed out information and maps for places we wanted to visit and was super helpful getting parked and providing us with power and a place to dump our tanks. We would highly recommend Leisure Acres for a place to stop in your travels.
Our family had an absolute blast here (the kids were surprised with rides on go-carts!) Mr. LeisureAcres and his crew were beyond generous, kind, and welcoming! This visit will be one our family will remember and cherish for years to come! Thank you!
A very friendly host. Shared stories of his place and enjoyed seeing the garden that he and his wife worked so hard on.
A quiet place near Cayuhoga Valley NP and other sights in the area.
We enjoyed our stay.
Thank you very much!
This was our first boondocking experience and we honestly didn’t know what to expect. We were so pleasantly surprised by David’s friendliness and generosity. He offered up his property and our kids had so much fun. He even helped me with an electrical issue on my rig. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. Thank you David and we will look you up the next time we are in the area. Best, J,L,J,L,F
